  Why go as far as IP, if the IP may not even be the same for me and the archodite u mentioned. Why dont u go dig up her IP and compare it wit mine first?
  My Tamil is pretty good and I've told another DFer called Indhu about my 11 years of 'formal training' in Tamil. And there r plenty of non-Tamil DFers here.

  KM Songs are again another mediocre score. I do not know why kumudham and Ananda Vikatan have praised the music so much. The "Kanathil Muthamital" song is the only good song in this album. Even this song has resemblance to some old MSV song.

  I had the similar opinion when these magazines praised a mediocre kasi album.
  
  Sorry to have got into this tangle. But, just needed to respond to that dorai aiyya. Truely, I have my reservations on kasi but, I did not go after thread to thread and say that it is just an other album.
  Kasi compared to Avadharam (alomost silmilar lines....)is not even a 10% up to it. MHO

  I thought I should say what I felt like. I am not bashing ARR or praising IR here. My sincere opinion after repeated hearings is KM is nothing but Mediocre stuff.

  The only reason why KM is not doing well is..well, there are 2 reasons!
  1. There is no place for meaningful films in Tamil Nadu. I mean it has to be a masala film or one w/ lotsa fights!
  2. Most of the songs in KM have been pushed to the Background.. literally! This way they cannot promote the film by showing the songs on TV.
  
  This is why KM hasnt done well...
  I just saw it yesterday and it was such a beatifully crafted film!!
  And kudos to the cameraman. In the film, esp. in Sundari song, he's turned.. twisted.. flew!!

  No sorry, my intention was not what you actually think. This again shows that I don't go after thread to thread to critisize an album if I did not like it. Just wanted to react to dorai in a jovial way and throught of making a punch there. That's it. Had I thought of critisizing Kasi left and right, I wouldn't have missed those threads. I don't have patients to unearth them here now and post. Nor, would I have posted my opinion had dorai not made that statement. Just a reaction and that too not so serious. NOM Dorai. Just a reaction that's it.

  Hi everybody (who like sensible movies in Tamil- which is very unusual in these years)
  I Happened to watch KM in NY last week. One more master piece from MR, it's just too good especially so becuase of contributions from every person in the movie. Photography, story, screenplay, Dialogues by Sujatha, ARR' music ( this is the only movie after Iruvar in which I liked ARR's BGM, it is pretty neat, although there are couple of "Lagaan" song shades in few occassions, all in MHO) good acting by the entire crew. Keerthana's performance is just fantastic, appropriate with out too much of histrionics (like the last Scene in Anjali "Yenduru Anjali.....Yenduru Anjali....Yenduru Anjali....Yenduru Yenduru....., kind of stuff)
  
  It is definitely a different kind of movie from the mundane stupid movies churned out by the so called young as well as seasoned directors. Definitely not the Alaipayudhe kind of recycled stuff, but an original, aunthetic, sensitive theme handled extremely well by MR.
  
  The male version of title song , picturization is just amazing, MR you did it again. We don't mind waiting for MR's this kind of movies even if it takes more than a year for every movie to be made.
  I had earlier written my review about the songs in another thread, MR could have limited to just the title songs and the MSV/Bhalram BG song , for the entire movie, as these are the only songs which just mix well with the narration, instead of the other songs, probably ARR could have concentrated more on BGM or even utilized the music for BGM more effectively.
  
  The crap about the songs not having been made an inpact for TV publicity, doesn't make any sense, as if , there were no tamil hit movies before these kinds of artficial hypes. A good movie also needs a good support by good audience and viewers, well with the degenerating tastes of TN makkal, making the stupidest movies like "kushi", Citizen ( Not sure if it was a hit, Dheena or even the mediiocre rehash melodramas like "vaanathu pole" as great hits, I don't know how successful will this movie be.
  
  Again, not always a good movie should have 5 or six hit songs to make it a big hit, Ex: Sigappu rojakkal, not able to recollect others, but there are many movies with just 2 or 3 songs yet being great movies as a whole.
  
  In recent times I had a great pleasure of watching few good movies, to name "Kutti, Azgagi, Kadal pookkal ( what a misery of missing IR in BGM) and Kaasi, but KM definitely stands above and apart from being a different movie in Tamil.
