LLD NCR is the Company name. If you go to any any retail store you can see their name on the bar code scanners.
NCR introduced the first bar code scanner in 1974. Now they are into manufacturing of ATM machines, POS etc.
I'm in the Teradata division though. Tereadata is a product of NCR.

Rajni had tried his best to give it a Japanese angle so that the movie runs for that much longer.. :)
btw, did u realise that the CM whom Rajni supported had a Japanese flag for Chinnam? :)

Hi all,
i'd been to india for sometime....the response in chennai for Baba was not that good...I passed thru udayam theatre a couple of times during the evening show and it was not crowded at all... it was not even 30 days since the movie got released...Definitely it's a flop and every HCRF has to accept it....I was ROTFL when I saw baba ad on the tv... it went like kuzhandhaigalukku sakthiman, periyargalukku budhimaan blah blah blah...

Hi Folks,
3 days back I said the media is slowly changing from negative
criticsim and here we go. Article from Hindu, talks about the money
that rajini is returning to the theatre owners. Still the good news
is that the movie is making so much money but it is not up to the
super star standard. So when people say it is Flop it is only for
Super Star standard and not to the other movies. Nobody is loosing
money as such.

Rajnikant refunds crores to offset 'Baba' losses
By Our Staff Reporter
CHENNAI SEPT. 27. In what is being hailed as an "unprecedented and historic gesture", the actor, Rajnikant, is said to have refunded "crores of rupees" to exhibitors and distributors to "fully compensate all losses" incurred on his home production `Baba', the association of distributors and exhibitors announced in the city today.
Maintaining that it was still registering more `collections' than any other film playing in theatres, representatives of 116 exhibitors from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka clarified that the term `losses' was the difference between the money actually invested by the exhibitors and distributors as minimum guarantee (MG) and the actual `collections'.
"He (Rajnikant) was particular that no one suffered losses because of him," G.Venkateswaran of the GV Films said, speaking at a function organised by the exhibitors and distributors to thank the actor.
"It was the first thing he announced on his return from America," said Nagarajan Raja, representing distributors.
Interestingly, there was a request from a section of the distributors to the superstar that he do another film to set right the losses.
"I can't do another film for debt. Let's clear this first and then think about another film," the actor, had apparently said.

It is an unfortunate fact....that the spirituality RK had propounded in 'Baba' has not found much favor in his own country.
But this has always been the case throughout our history. Even Swami Vivekananda had to go to America and win recognition there...only then will India accept. Pathetic !
The point is...if RK had stuck to his run-of-the-mill storyline...his detractors would have labelled him "aracha mavu". When he has had the courage to cover new ground...do we have appreciations ? Nope. The same old barking.
Better to turn a deaf ear to such comments.

Well said, cosmo
In Lata RK's interview, she said the same thing (that foreigners had better appreciation of the teachings from India)

WN..
It is actually a fact that NRIs hold more on to the traditions and cultural values of their motherland. Maybe it has to do with the psychology of living in a foreign culture.
Maybe this explains why Baba is running well in Malaysia, Singapore and Japan.

If RK stick to spirituality then no issues (like SriRagavendra. Inthat movie concept like Advaitham/Dvaitham is discussed quite at length). But Baba is Aviyal movie spirituality/amma/love/masala/comedy/magic/action and presented with drinks and beedis.
Is the movie release in Japan yet!
I like Rajni's Punch dialogues, Action and even dance is very good. Overall good entertainer.

cosmo,
well said
Speaker,
BABA had this usual RK formula....but to an lesser extent.....dats y we see amma/love/comedy/action along with spirituality.......if only the spiritualism part had been less the film wud have run for a year atleast......in the sense that RKfans only want "kai thookina music....kaal thookina music".....nuthin expected in any other aspect from RK which is really sad
jus this thing wud prove it.....one of my college friends (hes member of RK rasigar mandram) was comparing 2nd half of BABA to sumthin of the sort of Palaiyathu Amman! :)) ..... no wonder i was dumbstruck!
btw.....i heard that RK refunded the money not only to compensate the losses but also gave an extra amt to the distributors since he din want them to be at a loss.....is this true??
here in chennai.....BABA has been taken of Sathyam and put in Subham......i heard this Sat evening show at Subham was housefull.....i guess it isnt doin soooo badly.....only that tis a flop by RK standards

here are the few -ve stuffs my friends told about the movie
1. TOO much of *thookifying* RK in the movie, by each and every character.
2. No one liked the way RK's *spiritual* stuff was put across to the viewers
may be these two would explain it ?
cosmician, i don't think that *our country* do not favour our own guys...... may be "BABA" was not upto the standards - iam not talking about RK's standards..... may be it was not put across in the correct way - so it looked like an "ambuli maama" movie ? (this word was used by many of my friends)..... so why blame our guys.....
"Padayappa" was 90% araicha maavu only (60% of the movie was mannan) - but wasn't that a success one ? i don't remember anyone blaming it - the movie was a huge success was'nt it ?
and C~P - i had read in tamilcinema.com (which ususally pulls RK's legs) that he had returned 50% of the money - that was really something (and i also read in Jr.Vikatan, that Kamal and others are really pissed of cause of this - cause now RK has set a trend of returning movie - all the other producers would expect the same out of Kamal and others)....

padayappa success without doubt......it crossed 100days in 30+ (or 20+) theatres in TN.......went for 200days in many as well.......no doubt padayappa is a success......this was coz these are the only things ppl expect from RK!
RK returning 50% is something really great.....i dont think any1 would ever do it......hope this wud prove to a few ppl yelling here that RK is takin ppl for granted....as far as i know hes EXTREMELY fair
now don temme RK isnt fair.....hes dark (complexion!) :) .... i know dat as well :)
