Why no(less !!) female participation in newtfmpage DF?

Guys,
I am a silent watcher of DF for quite sometime. I have always wondered why there is not much female participation is discussions in this internet world.Any idea? Does they lack knowledge about TFM in general? No girl has sound technical knowledge about music? Or they hide behind a guys name and post?

  to my knowledge it(knowledgeable females' participation in this forum) has dwindled though people like mythila and all are participating even now. but it used to be much more.
  
  one of very very knowledgeable persons who visit (atleast have visited) is IR alias Isai Rasigai. She is mobile-raaga depot. One can get doubts in any classical raaga from her. A classic(al) veena player.
  
  Old timers like Kanchana madam who is guru in Western classical, Jazz etc has poured in lots of knowledge into this forum. Every fellow DFer would cherish her posting.
  
  In general, if im not wrong, one can see a greater percentage of participation from female DFers in permanant threads like ROS, PP, JFF etc.
  
  But yes, I wish there could be more knowledgeable female forumers visiting this forum.

  Thanks for the list. I have read posts from those you have mentioned. Buts its far far less from the male count here. Is there a chance that many are just silent spectators ? Read-only mode ?
  Whenever i see posts from names which doesnt reveal their gender(like MusicIsLife,C~P,V etc etc) i have a hope that it might be a female. :-)

  yes as our Confused~Party confessed we cannot vouch for the gender of a person just by name though as you rightly thought i am a male. i dont have to upload my photo coz i think u believe in me. And as you rightly thought one definitely cannot ascertain gender of neutral named persons like C~P.
  
  One reason i could think of females not revealing their name and/or gender is the fear of cyber-eve teasing and cyber jolling.

  MGR,Nazar,Shankar,Sundar,Kadhir with few exceptions like Malar(who names their kid malar nowadays anyway??), Jeniffer are there.
  Thats why females says 'errrrrrrr' when they see a male.
  hence speaker and outsider are males
  hence the proof !!

  Regarding cyber-teasing I have never seen anything of that sort in newtfmpage. The Admin(bb,MS a.k.a Velaiyathavan) is strict and does their job well. Actually its the other way round. Girls giving nice fitting replies to guys. Ex: WhyNot. she is missing nowadays.

  Perfectly agree with u. I had the most horrid time watching his sucking movie "Alai" on the bus on my journey back home. Curse my luck, no way to jump out of the bus. Some one had cleverly derived the name "chimbu" from "Chimpanzee".
