Vel, It may be better if you host it in some place rather than people individually asking to email. 1. you will do the boring job and get tired soon. 2. Your time may be better spent in updating the database and 3. We can periodically check for updates here, without bothering you.

These days of spam, i am skeptical about leaving my email id open.

newtfmpage/dhool will gladly host this. Which will get indexed through search engines > better visibility. Besides, missing entries can be contributed by users.

I am compiling a similar database of SPB's songs before the arrival of IR. It has currently 200+ entires. I have already mailed my first version to newtfmpage admin.

Its already hosted in a site, and pretty much a recognized website (google for ilaiyaragam, and u will land up there) :-)

This is not a boring job, Venkat. It is just forwarding work. I have a single e-mail draft that is being sent, to people who want it. This is labour of love to me.

The updated file is what is being sent in excel format now. [This is more convenient so that people can sort data as per their requirements. People who got the excel database give raga-based selections for recording. Thus, users of this database can record all charukesi songs or all shankarabharanam songs..and learn nuances. This is one of the uses..]

I dont mind if tfm admin (bb) puts this up as a link in newtfmpage/dhool & people download it from there..but i would like to have an option of updating the excel file. If that is fine, i am more than willing to give this as a link for people to dowload..

This is a 3 year long work venkat, and i owe it to newtfmpage (especially the raga of songs thread) for this ever-growing list of IR songs set in a particular raga. Ram, IR, MS, Purv etc are some people whom i am indepted to, for their valuable time, suggestions, additions & corrections.

Till admin thinks otherwise, it has to be the e-mails route via this thread...Of course, i leave it to my friends & co DFers to decide if they are willing to leave their e-mails here.. i for one do not think that posting e-mails on this page is going to result in spam..but decision is yours :-)
