  IK, u said that Baba will be released on Aug 15 2002...Roja was released on Aug 15 1992...
  (These release dates are related to the movies and not the audios..)
  If these dates are correct, what a way to mark ARR's 10th Anniversary in TFM.

  WhyNot is correct. The discussion of punch words from Baba itself would be inappropriate in this forum if you strictly go by the rules. Therefore I shouldnt have started this thread in the first place.
  I just thought I would start the fire about the movie, since the music is not yet out. And as with any Rajini film the hype starts a lot earlier than the actual release of songs or the movie.IK, as Whynot said has been pasting a lot of informative links on Baba related news and such.So I dont see anything wrong in WN posting about MK and her discipline issues while shooting for Baba
  
  WhyNot: That's an intelligent finding. I never realised that. Aug 15th 1992 - Roja and ten years later Aug 15th 2002 - Baba for ARR. He better come up with god numbers for this movie. Hope people will talk about two great movies with great music both ten years apart, one by a good director and one by a good actor (after Baba releases).

  "AR Rahman: Roja-Baba"...Wont tat make a nice thread heading for Aug 15th?:-)
  It is surprising to have such a big movie releasing for ARR exactly 10 years later on the same day. I mean, there werent anything by ARR released, say last year aug right? hope the details r right.

  Since I was living more close to Rajini (geographically) than anyone else, I do know some history and some rumors that were floating around.
  I used to live in Pudupet Garden street in Royapettah, Chennai India (behind music academy) from the late 70s to the late 80s.
  
  Rajinikanth used to live there (in the same street) for a while and visit this street frequently (later after he moved to his Poes Garden residence), as his foster mom used to live there. He still visits his foster mom is what I heard. She was a telugu-ite even though Rajini was Maharashtra born and Bangalore (Karnataka) brought up. Therefore he is well versed definitely in Kannada and Telugu, that's for sure. My family knew his old manager and foster uncle and so on and we used to get all this information from them (just to confirm the source)
  
  I definitely know that Rajini was married to Latha, (the current founder and chief of Ashram school in Chennai) in 1981 which was well after he started acting in the movies. I also know for a fact that he was mentally ill or temporarily tuned off from the outside world for about a year or two right before his Ragavendra film release. The main reason for his acting in a devotional film after his comeback was to Thank GOD for bringing him back to normal. The Rajinikanth i had seen at that time was very pious (apparently he is very GOD fearing now too).
  
  Now here are the spins to his biography. Now, some people say that he was driven to mental insanity for a while because of his affair with the actress Latha (not his current wife, but MGR film heroine). MGR at that time opposed this and created some trouble for Rajini and threatened him and so on. I do not know if this is a rumour or a fact. But given MGR's capabilities and known and unknown affairs with women, this could well have been true.
  
  But be rest assured that Rajini was single when he started in the movies.
