well i heard that his next flim would be with vijay n priyankachoupra staring in it
and the cd's will be out in july
and another one with prabhudeva staring in it n this will out in june i guess...
well more to come from him n i hope that he make's it big....

  YSR has been coming up with lot of solid hits for the past 2 - 3 years regardless of how the movies do. Why are all big directors with any sense running after copycat HJ? Is it because they only want cheap version of ARR or some vendetta against YSR. I think YSR is better than HJ easily. What do you think?

  Wullam all songs are listenable. But nothing more than that. I think YSR should reduce the movies and concentrate on them.
  
  Still he has not created great impact. That's why Shankar and Rajini are approaching HJ.

  What I feel is, Shankar and Rajni and others are going to HJ because his music will 'sound' like ARR anyway - a cheap alternative to ARR, thats it !
  
  HJ has some hits, But he is NOT original - I would rate him in the class of Devas, SARs and SiRpis ONLY ...
  
  IMO, Among the current TFM MDs, The only MDs who ***may*** have their own 'period' (like IR and ARR had last couple of decades) are VidyaSagar and YSR !

  Yes, the songs are listenable, I guess this is a movie being directed by some new comer. So I was not expecting great songs anyway, so no disappointment! Though I don't agree with the charts (reflecting sales of two FAMOUS SHOPS) coming in Kumudam, last week wullam is listed on the second place. Since tamilnadu is a big state with so many shops, I don't think it gives you a true picture. :)
  
  Yes, in terms of number of movies, he is doing so many now. I hope he will manage, and I beleive he has the needed talent.

  HJ is in the league of Deva and Sirpi? No way. I think he has potential. His Kakka kakka was a rage in Tamilnadu. That movie has his stamp all over it. So I guess he will be a success too.
  
  More choices for customers is a good thing. So I wish YSR and HJ to be successful:)

  I'd consider only YSR, VS and HJ as front-line composers in TFM today. IR and ARR are in different leagues who come out with limited outputs, occasionally. Its therefore unfair to club them as front-line.
  
  Personally, I feel YSR is yet to create an impact like that of HJ. HJ successfully created massy hit songs for Saami while his music was upmarket and classy in Kakka Kakka. That was truly a double whammy and last year clearly belonged to him. This year he started with a false note in Kovil.
  
  YSR's music is yet to reach the massy level of say, Saami or that one song from Thiruda Thirudi. Even on the classy music front, YSR has very few, the best being 'Devadhayai Kanden', though others might want to refute it with personal abuses hurled at me.
  
  VS seems to be losing it steadily. Though I personally loved his songs in 'Joot', every review panned it! 'Thirumalai' and 'Varnajaalam' only worsened his position.
  
  There are other sidelines like Manisharma, SAR, Deva who keep churning phenominally uninteresting music film after film. Deva even tried his hand at a Manmadharasa-like composition, twice...in Kaadhal Kirukkan and now in Adithadi, ably backed by, again, Manmadharasa-like violently vigorous dance (??) movements! Bharadwaj continues to surprise in one odd song when working with Charan.
  
  I suppose, its time for some newcomer to storm the scene like Jassie Gift recently did in Malayalam with 'Lajjavadhiye'!

  I feel YSR has done many albums that outclass HJ. HJ has had the good fortune of having good movies to go in hand with his mediocre songs.
  
  YSR's albums which created an impact are
  Poovellam Kettuppar
  Dheena
  Mounam Pesiyadhe
  Kadhal Konden
  Punnagai Poove.
  
  All were quality albums unlike the rehashed junk that HJ churns out.
  
  Name 5 songs that have been huge hits for HJ that have not been inspired from another source and I will agree that he can be classed ad an MD.
  There are many song s of YSR that haven't been inspired from another source.
  YSR copied a couple of songs in KK, and that has become the focal point of all anti-YSR posters in this forum. Aside from KK he has given some great songs.
  
  Take the song "Anandham" from Junior Senior.
  What a beautiful song. The film was terrible so therefore did not reach anybody. had the film been more of a success, the song would have become more well recognised.
  
  Notice, majority of HJ songs that have been massive hits have been featured in good movies with a big star cast and bug budget.
  Who remembers Pepsi/Ullam Ketkume More?

  I believe Yuvan showed his potential as early as in Velai, then in The Blast. Those two albums showed a big change from his previous composing style, then came Poovellam kettu paar. Even PKP is not that big hit. I think Thulluvatho ilamai was just fantastic, and changed everything for him. About his new movies: I believe most of them worked before with Yuvan and came out successful. That is the reason they want to have Yuvan again.

  Only couple of movies he is doing for new comers. I believe he is moving up gradually and steady. Even at this rate, his songs are not that bad either. His BGM ability is also good. So he has potential to make it. But I want him to parallely do some collaborative work with people like Moby, Massive Attack.
  
  Bharadwaj comes out well with few songs in cheran and charan movies. Autograph is on the top spot for couple of weeks in Kumudam. Virumandi is still on top 3. KKS dropped out of the list and Wullam has reached no 2 now. But I doubt BW will make it big.

  YSR is prolli one of the strongest canaidates if not the only canidate for the #2 spot in tfm behind ARR. rest of the people kinda follow ARR's lead or rehash hindhi,english, and their own songs over n over.
  
  good example is Bharad waj who rehashed his thozha thozha for the song by harish in Janaan...sad part os thozha thozha was a rip from a hindhi song.

  YSR rightly said that no one is no1 now. If you give a good album, people will buy it. That's the true picture of tfm. arr was having good time with his new sounds once upon a time, but now everybody has access to them. I bet if these guys are not around, from baba to his current album might have been big big hits. Now those albums look very very ordinary to music fans, that is the reason for his failure. Certainly HJ plays a big role in it. His Majnu, 12B, Laysa Laysa, Minnale, Kakka Kakka proved that you don't need a genius to create this kind of music. All you need is little of bit talent, hardwork and access to these technology gadgets, you can come up with winners.
  
  Though Deva is never on the race to the top spot, I think if he joins vasanth and surya he can give commercial hits.
  
  VS lost out during deepavali and pongal releases. On both occasion, pithamagan and virumandi topped the charts both in terms of audio sales and movie collections. So VS should be eager to release his gilli to get in to the game again.
  
  Anyway what is YSR's next release? when is it coming?
