Harris Jayaraj-Talented but unlucky in TFM

Common guys, Harris is a talented music director, but I think luck stop favouring him after the super success of Minnale. He is often compared to ARR (true to some extent).

I agree you can find traces of ARR in his music. But let us agree the fact that he is definetly a better music composer than D Imman, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Karthik Raja, and of'course the copycat Deva, and a bunch of other new music directors in the pipeline.
I hope ARR fans will agree to this. His music in Minnale, Majnu, 12b, Samurai, Laysa Laysa are really good. Harris may not have a fan following like ARR and IR, but since I too am A R Rahman fan, I thought Harris is good, Harris is also good guys. Let's wait for his future releases such as SAAMI and others. May be he can create magic once again. I guess it is the question of time. What do you say?

  Yes I agree with you Harris.
  HJ is definitely better among the current lot of young MDs. Its disgusting to see MDs like Yuvan Raja coming out with one crap album after other therby wasting the golden opportunities that he is getting.
  Ditto with Imman who couldnt make it big inspite of getting chance to do a Vjay film.

  haris is a good composer, but tries to blatantly imitate ARR. Probably the reason for that is that he has worked with ARR and has been inspired by his style. I think that Minnale has been the only album that has had such a fan following as ARR's in the past 10 yrs. But Harris is defnitely a notch above than the others (VS, KR, YSR etc) in the field. Hope he tries to be more original in his future compositions and ventures into the realm of including more carnatic music in his songs!

  hey...guyzzzz ...cheer up..i'm number 1 fan of ARR...but...all off u all got a wrong news.. its not that harish never get alot of films..juz after he released his minale.. he was offered as 18 movies ,,..but he juz choose 3-5 for a year...he said in an interview ..he wantz quality ,not quantity... and i believe that this is a ARR quote....we must be happy bcoz we have so many quality md like ARR, harish, IR,vidyasagar,and mani sharma...we must make clear 1 thing...although bollywood beats us in many aspect...but...our TFM beats them in music once and for ...me also must know 1 thing ..till date .there is no bollywood md ever composed for hollywood films...but..ourARR,and VIDYASAGAR already did composed sound track hollywood film and ..and IR became the first person in ASIA to composed for some famous orchestra..sorry i forgot the name...but still...TFM got the talent,quality,and everthing else...

  u r retarded, all you do is go to each group and make fun of Harris and say ARR is the best. Get a life aite. Compare ARR's recent releases with the old ones, if u r really know music u would say there is BIGGG difference between them. ARR sucks now, Harris rules. Haven't you heard the quote "Smart ppl think alike?" Harris has a style which ARR has too so what? It's not like there is a copy right saying "THIS IS ARR, DON'T COPY".   Well, I do not want to get in to the argument of HJ copying ARR. My opinion is that HJ's style of music arrangement is simillar to ARR's, but the tunes are his own.
  
  And he is definitely doing a very good job. I like couple of his songs from Laysa Laysa.

  hey thays enough...u people the matrix and dinesh are really good to make a kalavaram between ARR and HJ fans...dinesh...u have to except the fact that HJ reall got talent in his hands...the guy really proof to usler...and u the matrix...plzler...who the hell u think u are to critic latest ARR music...u know nothing about ARR 'z looping,rhythm,sound regime...if u watch carefully the guy really invent new sounds and rhythm for BABA soundtracks...if u hear anbe sivam soun tracks..the melody was nice ...but most of the sounds and rhythm that are mixed in the song sequence are 2hand soundz...vidyasagar did create own melody but... copy other people'z sound and rhythm...people dont see the tune aloneler....there are a lot of other things more to be seen and heard...ARR also tries to give us a new music regime and variation to all of us like he did once in roja...so if anyone who getz boring when listening to BABA or KADHA VIRUS ...try to listen to it again and again..i will asure everone will loves ARR music....plz dont see which MD is better ,see which MD can bring our south and north indian music flavour to the world out there...ARR and VIDyasagar already did,HARISH just need more time...

  Don't get me wrong but ARR's music is going way down! Really. If ARR can create techno-music so can Harris. This is not copying!!! Just because somebody came in first (by virtue of time) and introduced Techno (with a lot of sfx) doesn't mean he ownz it. Maybe ARRs variations were good at one time but now-a-days it is simply mechanical (super-sfx) and dull. Hell, anyone could do it given decent piece of software :( Where's the creativity in that!
  
  And No, one does not need to listen to a song again and again to like it... just once and it must make an impression... (atleast that's my standards)

As for u draj i'm not a music einstein like u to know the looping,rhythm,sound regime etc...as a matter of fact i don't think normal people need to know these in order to get a feeling if a song is good or bad(lol @ u). I agree with you on some of your thoughts such as ARR did give good music back then. I'm pretty sure alot of people agree with me but they don't want to put ARR down. When I heard the old ARR albums i didn't need to listen over and over again. I knew from the first time that it was good. Listening over and over again is silly. NE WAYZ LATA

  Hmm.... You realize that the more you know about music compositions and start picking at all the MD's music effort, the less you enjoy the songs... Shut off the thinking area of your brain once in a while you guys... Music should be enjoyed, not picked apart...

  Most ARR Fans try to stab IR Fans while Dinesh is one of a kind. He is after haris!!
  
  For one reason i like both ARR and Haris. Their recording is better than any other MD's recording. The worst case of recording is SARajkumar.

  i definitely agree with a few ppl out there ,my opinion goes like this
  
  ARR gave superb melodies till 2000 ie, till kk i guess but thenali was also good....since he turned back during 2001 with just 3 films in tamil and that too 2 reused tunes(alli arjuna & star)..and pp...people had 2 go 2 other mds...like harris who came in during 2001 when arr was busy with lagaan ,water ,tlobs etc in hindi...am not in a position 2 say whoes mistake it is,but certainly arr should have given atleast a few more albums with originality in 2001 ..then in pp certainly few songs were gud like MANMATHA MASAM,neethan desiya..but few were real experiments like (moondreluthu and tequi e more)...
  for a person giving an original album after a long gap i guess should not have experimented...in which case arr was bold 2 do it...but unfortunately it turned against him..since ppl were getting used 2 the music of other MDS during his absence and also few gud albums like MINNALE , shahjahan etc... came....
  
  and again in 2003 he experimented with KM...with tracks like sundari...and it just had one song with his old flavor of 2000 till kk...thats the title song......but i felt it truly was an xceptional album...much better than pp...since all songs were really gud...then came superstars BABA....which ARR had 2 rush up since the project was 2 be completed in 3 mths....but i guess even in that his compositions were very gud for a mediocre movie like that....so we find from the end of october 2000 or i would even say apr 2000 till aug 2002 ARR 'S presnce in tamil was not that gud...even though baba ,star ,pp and km had avg sales....AA was a flop....but now i feel again
  with KV ,arr had created magic....and he himself has said in an interview...2003 very gud projects coming up.....
  
  even though in tamil arr was unnoticed...arr had a gr8 yr of 2001 in hin with LAGAAN breaking all records...and 2002 hes created magic with SAATHIYA..even though i thought TLOBS was a masterpiece....so guys its not like whos the best md ..i feel every one have their day....
  
  i think harris is also gud...so as vidyasagar...YSR...and manisharma...each one have given hits...even though they r not consistent....ysr s latest flick aprilmaathathil really sounded nice for me.....vs run was gud..ms shahjahan was gr8 and so as harris minnale.....so we should respect each md and analyse whts the reason for failures of mds in tfm....but still i feel ARR RULZ.......!!!!!!!!
