  the film is a bilingual, to be released in hindi and tamil. the hindi version's to be called abhay (which is not strictly a bengali name). shooting begins tomorrow, looks like an exciting project. paarppom!

  He did movies like dilagi, rockford and one more, all average. One of his recent movie (mission kashmir??) was reviewed as dissapointing. I think he composed for his album breathless, which was a hit. Music was good but all his other movies sound similar to this.
  
  Its actualy 3-4 guys team (eshaan, shankar & loy??) who do it together.
  
  IMHO
  SM is a average MD, if not under average. If its my money I wount go for SM. If these guys want a different MD, why not ranjit barot?

  At the risk of digression, I would like to ask why you think the trio SM, Ehsaan and Loy are an average team? I think there have been fabulous songs in Breathless, Dillagi and Mission Kashmir.

  I too agree Breathless was good. I like it.
  I felt he is good movie meterial. But, dillagi and rockford, sounds like different songs in Breathless. They might be good as a small time band, with thier own style. But for movie score it was nothing great.

  perhaps a digression.. but talking abt ranjit barot - i thought the background score in Fiza was atrociously bad - drowned whatever (miniscule) quality there was in the movie! (IMHO)

  I saw fiza in a bad video tape. Couldnt get anything out of BGM. But I read something good about it in the reviews. But for Hindi movie standard anthing more than happy sitar, sad violins is good BGM..:)

  The latest venture of actor kamal hassan, Alaavandaan, in which the actor
  playes a duel role will be clap started in chennai.
  Directed by suresh krishna, story and screenplay and dialogue by kamal. The
  film titled Allaavanddan in tamil and also be simultaneously remade into
  Hindi with the title ABHAY.
  To give equal importance to the north and south India, the film produced by
  kalaipulai s thanu. Has bolllywood beauty Raveena Tandon playing the female
  lead in both the versions. Other characters the film makers have chosen to
  cast separate artistes in two languages. The film of the "actor of
  difference" too has many unique features. Actor Kamal in one of the duel
  roles will come with a tonsured head for the first time! Likewise Hollywood
  stunt coordinator Great Page, who had worked for Mission Impossible and Mr
  Nice Guiy is coming to India to work on Aalavandaan. Another specially about
  the film is playback singer Sankar Mahadevan doubling up as the Music
  Director in this film.
  The hi tech film will be an entirely different one both in respect of
  performance and presentation. This film, Cutting Edge was booking after the
  graphics which would feature for about 20 to 25 minutes in the film. Kamal
  said the film would be shot in nook and corner of different cities in the

  It will be interesting to see Suresh Krishna's contribution to this film.Like Sandhana Bharathy & co. will he also be just a second fiddle to Kamal?
  
  What was his contribution to "Satya"?In terms of story and screenplay I think it was an adaptation of a Sunny deol starrer Hindi film.

  BTW did you see those Bulging muscles of Mottai Kamal. Thanks to the Special Effect team from Australia,but Kamal has his way of getting attention isnt he ?
  Initally i thought it is going to be a lift from Face Off,but once kamal mentioned it is a adaptation from his novel published many years ago in Idhayam i think the name is Dhayam.
  I have read the story,well the plot itself is way far ahead of time for those days.
  But nice work,i dont how the movie will turn out though.
  Guys the team who scored music for Mission Kashmir is one who is scoring for this movie

  I think that kamal going to play a role this time as an action packed role. he said this time his whole body is going to speak in this movie...
  he had done so much of excercise for this to get a rough muscle body..(i think he will do some patch work like how-y shunmugi...)
  but sure we can expect some diff thinking...
  both inn massala and actions..

  Aalavandan is abt 2 guys - oru hero and oru villian.. rendume Kamal (kamal annanaaa kokka? vera yaravadu attention edutuka viduvaara?)
  
  shankar - ehsan - loy compose jingles for adfilms
  but the only probs is SM sings most of the songs composed by them
  I am sure aalavandan will not be an exception
  SM is defnly talented , aana anda 'kara-kara' voice doesnt suit everyone

  Shankar Mahadevan has done a great job in Breathless,if anyone interest i will upload some songs from that.
  I am sure the Shankar and team will do good job on Alavandhan heard they already finished composing for it.

  Shankar and team produced recordings with good sonics (just like ARR). I heard Breathless on videocassette in a friends place. Very interesting and enjoyable. I think Shankar comes up with the tune and others orchestrate/enrich it. He seems to have good taste in the melody dept.

  I hope Shankar Mahadevan uses all tamil voices without prejudice. I will be glad if he composes totally for others.
