  The programme was a real treat. When the programme started no mention was made about PS but just some clippings showing her listening to the songs by the participants. The latter half was all PS in her own inimitable style and elegance.
  MalarE MalarE...was the first rendition at the request of the anchor. She just takes us to ThEn Nilavu.
  Then her chat and conduct of the programme.
  The third phase had the participants' duet with Smt Susheela.
  PBS, AMR & TMS songs Pazhagum ThamizhE, Kangalin Vaarthaigal., Mulai Malar MelE.
  Ithanai Kaalangalukku pinnum, Ethanai kaalangal aanalum PS, PS thaan.
  Only if todays' MDs with all the technical advancements could treat Tamil music lovers by using this fabulous voice?!

  The Programme Was a Visual/Musical Treat..
  
  I correct Rajagopal here the song by PBS was Azhagiya Mithilai Nagarinile
  
  Wow the voice is Still the same & What a Start..
  
  They've requested her to Participate in the First episode of the new Aboorvaraagangal which itself is the Respect shown to her..
  
  Malare Malare,Paartha Gnayabakam Illayo was Excellent
  
  Also she told the Story behind Mullai Malar mele
  & also sang few lines of yennai pol pennallavo!
  
  
  as Vicky&Rajagopal said we shld hear her voice now & then so as to compromise the Music dominated TFM

  It was a real treat Guys..
  
  Yesterday, I had to go for a class between 10-12noon, but I took off, only to watch the prog. It was superb. It was damn good when she sung duets with the young competitors in the third round. esp, mullai malar mele.
  
  A grievance: The conductor Ugendran (s/o Malaysia vasudevan) has not given a proper respectful reception to her.
  
  But overall it will be remembered.
  
  To remind you guys (esp who missed it): The same will be repeated on comin g saturday. Please watch out for the timings (it should be in the afternoon). I am planning to Video record it.

  Susheeela said that the original recording by G. Ramanathan (MD) was done 10 days after her wedding with Dr.Mohan. She was in high praise of GR and said he is a "medhai/gnani" and the day was unforgettable for her. It was the story..!

  and also she said abt "YEnnai Pol Penn Allavo" which was based on Thodi Raagam Which is usually a Difficult Raaga .It was A Challenge For Ps.GR encouraged her a lot..

  Raj, the film "Uthama puthiran" had 4 songs of PS like "Mullai malar mele", "MaNNulagellam ponnulagaga" by PS & Jikki, "Kaniya kaniya mazhalai pesum", "Un azhagai kanniyargal". But "Yennai Pol peenallavo" is from a different film. I am sure about it.
  
  PS did not mention the name of the film. I will try to get it.

  1) You are correct that "yennai pol ..." is from a different film.
  But
  2) "Kaniya kaniya mazhalai" is from Mannaathi mannan.
  The other song from "Uththamaputhiran" is
  "Kaaththiruppaan kamalakannan"

  " Ennai pol Penn allavo" is from Vanangamudi a shivaji-Savitri starrer movie.That movie got four songs of PS, ,"mohana punnagai seithidum nilave" with TMS, " vaazhvinile, vaazhvinile, innal ini varuma" with AM.raja and "Raja yogame vaareer". All PS songs are very good in that movie.
  In UthamaPuthiran PS got four songs "mullai malar mele", "Mannulagellam", "Unnazhai kanniyargal" and a " Anbe Amuthe arum kaniye" with TMS. Anbe Amuthe paadal charanathil, " enna thavam cheythen, kanna unnidam uravada aasai manna" entra varigalil, aasayayum, virahathayum evvalau unarvu poorvamai kondu vanthirukkirar!!.

  Thank you very much for the info.
  Few people passed unwanted comments about her in many threads. You were fighting hard to reveal her abilities. Thanks to you,behalf of all PS fans. This programme was the reply to them. I hope, they will stop passing unnecessary comments on this LEGEND.
  Even today, no one can compete with her in the voice quality.

  "Nenjam Marapathillai". This was the caption for
  SUSHEELA 50, her golden jubilee celebrations.
  "Nenjam Marapathillai" programme by Vishali Manohar on Kaviarasu Kannadasan. One can hear the old melodies and needless to say it has many PS songs.
  "Nenjam Marapathillai"programme on Chennai FM every Sunday and not a programme goes without PS songs nor praises on PS.
  Actress Sreevidya last Saturday in the programme 'Maatha Pitha Guru Deivam' narrated that PS was the favourite of her mother MLV. In the words of MLV, "Full voice in any pitch and with such a clarity". MLV used to hum PS songs,notably 'summa pOna matchaanuku...' song from Vaanambadi(thookanaang kuruvikoodu..).
  SCV channel comes out frequently with PS songs at a stretch for an hour. So also Teja TV in Telugu. Doubt if any other artist has such an honour.
  The only disheartening fact in the entire Aboorva Raagangal programme was the painting of PS which was in a corner and was not focussed.

  Kids Asked Abt Vairamuthu’s statement in “Indha Kulathil Kal Yerindhavargal”
  
  Where he has mentioned that in his Last Stage(Death) he is asking others to leave the room with susheela’s song ..
  
  For that She said Iravuku Aayiram Kangal Pagalukku Ondre ondru .. she said like that if VM is saying like that it’s my bakkiyam..
  
  Some kid asked abt ther Spoken Tamizh Which is not Proper but as for as songs are concerned she is perfect
  
  For that she said I never talk … & More over Concentrated More on Songs & their Perfection So I couldn’t
  But now I think I’m talking little bit ok –she asked how many marks will the kids give her for her thamzih
  
  And one kid really asked a good question . She asked Once under Vkumar’s music u did a mistake and he scolded but u pointed a Guitarist(Illayarja) .. that’s y he didn’t give more Chance to u after he became MD..
  
  She said @ those period we’ll be inside a room and I don’t know him @ that time
  I said bec of that I couldn’t .. she said we’ll ask this to IR himself & get the Answer..
  
  Totally the Programme Was Excellent & she Sang few lines of the Great Song Mannavan Vandhanadi Thozhi also..

  Thanks Subbu. 'ennai pOl peNNallavO' is in vaNangAmudi indeed and what great singing!!!! It has been picturised on Savithri inside a temple. PS remains unmatched till date.

  People like AMR,Ghantashala Used her more than any body
  
  Particularly AMR didnt even use Jikki more for duets with him..
  
  He gave Malare Maalre Theriadho,Nilavum Malarum Paaduthu(Wow what a Song),Thanimayile, Vaadikai Marandhadhum Yeno etc...
