Why no(less !!) female participation in newtfmpage DF?

Guys,
I am a silent watcher of DF for quite sometime. I have always wondered why there is not much female participation is discussions in this internet world.Any idea? Does they lack knowledge about TFM in general? No girl has sound technical knowledge about music? Or they hide behind a guys name and post?

  I like Drama basically. I am big foriegn movie buff. I watch Spanish, French, Italian, Iranian and Hollywood movies a lot too. I refuse (yes REFUSE!) to watch Hindi movies.
  
  I basically goto Film festival sites and browse through the reviews and watch almost 60% of movies from film festivals like Cannes, Berlin Fest, SFO Fest, Toronto Fest, Locarno Fest. I also watch 4 star movies of Roger Ebert and New York and LA film critics circle. Ebert and Roeper? I find both of them contradicting a lot sometimes. I even complain that Ebert is very lenient sometimes.
  
  I am listing my favorites here with the movie names so that when you go to Hollywood Video next time you can pick a good sunday night movie! :-)

  I left out Kubrick, Spielberg etc. because I personally was not enchanted by any of their movies.
  
  Apart from these I have about a million other foriegn movies and pre 70s hollywood classics in my favorite classic. My goal is to watch "The Top 250 Films" of all time in IMDB website (www.imdb.com). IMDB is like god to me. If a movie has more than 7.7 rating from more than 2,000 votes or more than 8.0 rating with about 500 votes, I watch it immediately. It is like Ebert's 4 stars!

  Abbas Kiarostami, Mohsen Makhmalbaf and Dariush Mehrjui are all Iranian film-makers.
  
  Iran would rank in the top 5 if we rank countries according to film quality.
  
  The entire Makhmalbaf family makes good films. Mohsen's daughter Sameera Makhmalbaf was recently acclaimed in NEw Delhi for some elite film accomplishment.
  
  And yea India would rank in the 50s if we did rank countries according to the qualoity of their films. I am sure Algeria, Romania, Chzech Republic and all those countries would ranbk much much higher than us.
  
  Our bull-shitt tamil movies with damakkku damakku gaana songs, vivek comedy, kiran thondhi kattara dance makes us the biggest laughing stock in the whole world. Look at our reviewers! They reveal the story when they wrte reviews. What a shame on this country! SO cheap!
  
  The only saving grace are people like Balu Mahendra, Mahendran, Mani Ratnam, Adooor Gopalakrishnan, Shaji N Karun(terrific!), Mrianl Sen, Ketan Mehta, Satyajit Ray, Girish Kasaravalli, Rituparno Ghosh.

  Yes. Tom Hanks is the lead actor in The Green Mile and I was talking about that only! Incidentally bothe the great movies directed by Frank Darabont were based in Prisons and were Stephen King novel's (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile)

  the way their directors handle a subject is way too good compare to our director...

  I thought cinema cinema was a documentary about how Mohsen Makhmalbaf made a movie with auditions?
  
  I have not seen it, but I have heard many good things about the director of that feature Maani Petgar. Should watch it sometimes. Watch the movies of other Iranian directors like:

  Abbas Kiarostami
  Dariush Mehrjui
  Majid Majidi - my fav Iranian director
  
  The movie color of paradise by Majid Majidi moved me to tears! It is called "Rang-e Khoda" and is translated to "Color of Paradise". Watch it anytime!
  
  Also, Majid Majidi's Children of Heaven was a great and simple movie about a boy searching for his sister's lost shoes. It was nominated for "The Best Foriegn Film" category for Oscars. watch it!

  yup i watched the Children's of Heaven...twice...and liked it very very much....
  
  "color of paradise"..is it abt the kids in the street who try to get the old lady to the phone in the house which she will be locked outside by another kid accidentally
  
  i can't remember the titles.
