Minnale--Songs and BGM

With Minnale getting outstanding reviews from news papers and theatres having festival crowd of youngsters Harris can be proud of his songs and appropriate back round score....His hard work is evident every scene...People who have seen this film can comment here on the song sequences and BGM.

  I am soory guys, I am not prepared to jump into the HJ boat and boast his music. HJ's success is only due to ARR. I didn't see any sort of original work in his music, all I saw was lifts from Prior ARR tracks. The BGM wasn't spectacular. The only reason people are hooked on this movie is due to the high amount of airtime it is getting. I saw the movie and wasn't particularly impressed.

  I think u are talking about azhagiya theeyE. When someone newspaper guy asked him about it, he
  seems to have replied that it was he who did that
  guitar piece for mustafa which he had used in

  You go antiHJ. I saw the movie and sucked too. Really, why are people hooked on to the movie. Everything sucked. I hated the storyline. There was no point...The music..well, it was okay but whatz all this buzz?! He makes one hit and now he thinks he's all that and starts raising his salary. Seriously, do ya think he would repeatedly produce quality albums? I doubt it. Well, thats all from my side. Keep smiling everyone.

  I went to see the movie to check out HJ's BGM and to experience his songs in the theatre...though visually it was a big letdown.....but here we have an example of a soundtrack that preceded the star value of the film

  2 songs of Minnale are really impressive.
  1. Aye Aghagiya Theeye .. Sung by Harish Ragevendra
  2. vaseegara - Sung by Bombay Jayashree.
  
  Both songs have good melody. I like the Azhagiya theeye esp. when Harish goes like 'Enai Etho Sethu Vittal'.

  Also, I would like add that Vasegara has a tune that is based on a Thillana (I am not quite sure about the name). There was a show in Doordharshan Channel illustrating the similarities.
  
  Also, on Vijay TV on a funnier note, on Nyandi Dharbar, the conductor (I forgot his name) sung this song and related it to famous Hindi song Suraliya ho Thumne o.. Dil ho...
  It did sound to me that it has the same tune.
  
  All in all, the tune is a simple tune and the Flute pieces are very soothing and pleasant. Nice effort by Harris Jeyaraj!!!

  Further I wanted to meet him when I was in Chennai. I spoke to him on the last day when I was leaving Chennai to the US. He did not have time to meet me. But he sounded very friendly and patient with me for more than 5 minutes. He was getting ready to meet someone in Park Sheraton on that day and still had the courtesy to talk to me.
  I think with his talent and humbleness he will succeed.

  Please, don't beleive this. I too saw that program. I have listened to that "Churaliya hai..." number many a times and I keep listening to it often. No way both songs are related. THis Yuhi sethu , I don't know what sort of person he is. He sings "Churaliya hai.." and slowly sing "vaseegara" (which by itself is a slow tune). He sings it much slower than it is. and tries to relate both. I don't know from where he gets that idea. I think, if he tries further, he will be able to relate "adhanda idhanda arunachalam nandhanda" song with "vaseegara".
  
  BTW, in the same program, he said some thing about "thaniye thannanthaniye" song from rythm. What is that?
  
  MPO is he is a big IR fan. I have seen him, makes fun of all MDs except IR. But, I resently saw one of his film,(I lost respect on him after that...such a horrible film...but in programs he talks as if he is a genius) in which VS was the MD. Why ...? I don't know.

  I am not accusing you. I just said that the yuhi sethu fellow, whom we should not beleive for every thing. Yes, he is an actor cum director. Long ago I saw a movie of his with nasser. A nice and different one. But, this perticular movie was horrible with his direction. I got even more annoyed because, in his programs he talks as if he is the brilliant pig arround . He make fum of every body of copy and inspiration. Now, his program by itself is a copy of Shekar Suman's MOVERS & SHEKARS.
  
  (M&S itself is inspired by an star plus programme).
  
  In the first few months of his program, YS used to exactly repeat the same jokes what Shekar suman used to do in his Sony Television programme.
  
  BTW, VS is vidhya saagar.

  CF, by your logic, Shekar suman's MS is copy of tons of talk show in US. talk show is a general thing all over the world. They follow the same format in US europe etc. band, couch, table etc etc. there is no copy to start with.

  As for me, I simply love the movie Minnale. Madhavan, Abbas, Rima, Vivek and everyone has done their part very well and I really enjoyed the movie especially when I saw it in Chennai. Watching a movie in Chennai compare to Malaysia is entirely different. Music director Harris Jeyaraj...salutation for your great music to all the wonderful songs in Minnale. I just love the song Venmathi Venmathiye and Vahsigara. Keep up the good job. Cheers.

  kk: You are right. I didn't mean it in that way. What I ment was about the contents. He used to do/say the same jokes of SS. SS used to mimic vajpayee and laalu etc. See, he to does the same. The same kind of newspaper jokes are the ones that you often see in both the programs. But, it comes in M&S first and then with little nativity in it, the same joke is said in tamil. Guy, who have been watching both for quite some time will definitely agree. But, ND program is far far far far better than this Hari Giri Assembly program in jaya TV. MOST HORRIBLEST program (are there any more superlatives for this).
