It is too early to give a retirement party to ARR and speculate who will replace ARR. Let us hope this "Isai Puyal" continues for some more years. May be some graamiya soul from "thoppupuram" may replace him.

Do not waste your time by discussing this question. It is none other than THENISAI THENDRAL DEVA SIR. He has already replaced ARR and IR at TFM. So where does this question arise?

Before Answering the question, Just tell us who has given us the maximum number of hit albums in the recent years? It is undoubtedly ARR. In 1999 alone he has given us ESK, Sangamam, Kadhalar Dhinam, Padayappa, Jodi and Taj Mahal. How many has Deva given? Only Vaali and Nianiviriukkum Varai. IR? Only Kadhal Kavidhai. How many has SA Rajkumar given ? Thullatha Manamum and Nee Varuvay Ena!. YSR - only Flowerellam Ask Panni Paar and Unakkaga Ellam Unakkaga. No one can touch ARR in the near future.

Dear ARR Rasigare,
ESK, Sangamam, Kadhalar Dhinam, Padayappa, Jodi and Taj Mahal are Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V versions of one or another. But The Blast, Unakkaaka Ellam Unakkaaka, Poovellam Kettuppar are unique. ARR is replaced with YSR. Bharathi Raja will never turn his face to ARR. And so too Mani I believe.
For YVRs The Blast, Unakkaaka Ellam Unakkaaka, please visit my site.
Take it easy about my comments. ARR is wonderful but YSR is better than him. Listen to his music. You find the free flow of music

In response to someone's statement about a so-called decline in ARR's music that he sensed, well...sorry guys, but the only decline that I do see is in the no of his detractors and sadly in the so-called variety of topics that TFM now hosts---every "discussion" forum except a few is nothing but a slug fest between ARR and IR fans.
If indeed YSR is going to replace ARR, then lets wait and watch, please!! Less than half a dozen albums and people are already jumping to conclusions or should I say pushing their luck!
For all the BLAST,I still have to see someone coming up with the sort of debut that ARR did. Remember ROJA, anyone??! Some folks are even coming up with DEVA as a replacement. wow! Is he an MD?! Just found out, thanks! ARR does cut and paste--right?-- as claimed by some here who undoubtedly have blazed a trail in the music world before gracing this forum. Well, maybe thats all it takes to impress the likes of Lord Webber and have even the likes of singers like LATA and ASHA delighted to be singing for him. Maybe, thats it, guys if some of you desperately want to believe so. Lets have a topic called "ARR bashers special" or "IR lovers" or "Miscellaneous MDs special" which are all the same! where some of us can vent our frustrations. Actually, if I remember right, there was a thread close to that sometime back on TFM!! Must have been a party for many of you, right?
ARR did say that he felt YSR had the most knowledge of music in the raja family. Talk about a man at peace with himself and humility personified. Such people usually last a long long time--they are here to stay and I, for one am fortunate that it is so.
enjoy!

I remember some MDs made their debut in TFM with a bang but could not sustain because our mind was set to IRs music. No one could sustain IR. When IR took a break, ARR made the debut with bang. Else why MR goes to ARR? No one refuses that ARR made some impressive scores. Accept it or not, quality of his songs are deterioting. And believe it or not, YSR is impressive in all his albums. Unfortunately all of the movies failed (excepting the last one?!). That is a big minus for him, though not his fault.
ARR is patriotic? What do you guys mean? You know how much money this guy made with VandeMataram? What happened to the much raved 'Kargil' album? Well that way, I believe all MDs came with some patriotic album. Out of the entire VandeMatharam album only one was a hit song.
Yes, compared to IR, ARR is much polite. Well talk to any villager. Their answer looks offending but that is the fact. It is difficult for normal folks to digest. Does that make one a good MD? ARR is made look like good MD by the media and the support he receives from press. IR has earned many enemies in film field basically because people disliked him for the monopoly he had in the field. Is it his fault?
Well we Indians never appreciated genius people born in India. People are made in India. True skills are never appreciated. Every one has their time. It was MSV, IR, ARR, YSR. YSR is my best bet.

I 100% support u, ST Srinivasan.
YSR in long term will be the number one, if not the no.1 enemy of ARR but not now, wait.
(ARR has no damn right to comment that YSR is the best in the Raaja family, who is he compared to the real musicians, Arr is a very genius in copy & paste but with hi-tech sound engineering modifications, thus this guy have little knowledge about what real music is, that is total melody which can penetrate ur heart, touch it and bet me..)

on: Thu Nov 18 14:13:41 EST 1999
STS,
You are right about we Indians not recognising the geniuses born amongst us. Commerical success or money is what everybody respects.
I also feel YSR is a very smart guy. He understands IR's style as well as ARR. He may be a commerical hit but still think it will be a long time before we see somebody with the brains of IR.This guy is absolutely fantastic. I heard 'Mugam's BGM yesterday man o man it sounded like some violin concerto. And nobody seems to give a dammn.
If IR were born in the West he would be on the highest musical pedestal in the world.

on: Thu Nov 18 20:33:02 EST 1999
guys
sometimes I really wonder what it is that you really want? If ARR is polite, then its because "he is not from the village"! What drivel! If he said something good about your "idol" YSR, then he didn't really have any right to say so. If he didn't say anything, then in all probability, you would be saying that he is arrogant. Its a lose lose situation for him in this forum, I guess.
I am happy that IR has sons.....if not, you guys would have probably latched on to anyone with the name "raja" in it and supported him! Just to get back at ARR for having overshadowed IR of late.
Pity cos if today people are listening to and enjoying tamil songs (some are even making the effort to learn tamil or ask for translations just so that they can better appreciate ARR's songs), then it is thanks only to ARR.
not that you would agree. anyway, this would just go on and on without end. so I might as well not try too hard.

Bala, Your opinion goes below the decency level.
Calling some one a trash does not mean he becomes trash. Every one is biased believe it or not. People support YSR because they think he has the potential. Only those who fears, speak out of control. Let us respect everyone's remarks. We do not attack anyone verbally. This is a forum to express our opinion.
Take it easy
