AR Rahman's Tamil Blockbuster "BOYS"

Rahman's much anticipated "Boys" is set to release soon and everyone is keen on finding out more about this album. Who are the singers? What are the soundtracks like? When is the release date? Will the album be delayed? If anyone has any idea; please post here....

Here is what i found::

Typical of Shankar, the director is not prepared to say much about the film at this point. However, it is known that the film will be very youthful, almost teeny-bop, in content, with the majority of the cast being in the 16-23 age group.

Shankar, apparently, has decided to cast all new faces in his film – and the younger the better.

In fact, a mention in various Tamil periodicals, and an accompanying advertisement to the effect that Shankar was looking for new faces, has created a headache of sorts for the producers. Curriculums vitae have been pouring in to the Surya Movies post box ever since the ad and the story ran in the vernacular press – and last heard from, the flood shows no signs of abating.

Curiously enough, the ad appears – thanks to emails and discussion groups – to have reached an audience abroad as well, with the result that newer batches of applications have US, British and suchlike stamps on them, which suits the producer and director fine since the film does incorporate a lot of NRI faces.

For Shankar, Boys will be a return to romance after Kadhalan, and to comedy after the Aishwarya Rai-Prashanth starrer Jeans. Though the film will feature fresh – and ergo, inexpensive – faces, Shankar maintains that the film will be typical of his style, which means lavish budgets, and expensive production values.

  Sad to tell you that even if Boys is supermongous big hit of all time, ARR status will not change. He need to sustain quality with quantity for the next 25 years minimum. Then only the 'pucat' can happen. It's not that easy my dear friend.

  To all those who eagerly waiting for BOYS release.
  
  First....
  Boys audio was not been delayed intentionally. There
  where a lot of competition to get the copyright of
  Boys. The cost of the copyright was 0.5 million
  (Malaysian Money). Alaiosai managed to get the
  copyright and they have invested a lot of money in it.
  
  Second....
  This time the CD's will have some extra security
  system to curb piracy. You will not be able to make
  copies of this CD. The implementation of this
  technology have also dragged some time. Moreover a new
  technology had been used in the recording of Boys by A
  R Rahman. So, if you really want to enjoy the songs
  then, listen to it in a really good sound system. If
  you have a player capable of playing from 2Hz to
  2.4KHz then you will be able to hear all the
  instruments played at crystal clear. Please do not
  judge by listening to a normal midi hifi sets. You
  will also won't be able to hear the entire thing in
  MP3 format because once converted to MP3 some sounds
  will be gone.
  
  Third....
  The album will contain only 7 songs and will be
  launched at RENAISSANCE HOTEL KUALA LUMPUR next week
  (27 or 29 - can't remember the date. Entry to the
  launching is by invitation only. By 30th June Boys
  will be available all over the world.

  This thread is more than the entertainment I can handle...I think they keep postponing the release of BOYS afraid that it might loose viewership to this thread :) So, as long as this thread keeps going, BOYS' release is questionable. I second you Jag.

  Let the nay sayers say what they want.
  Boys, As ususal like all of the earlier shankar-ARR combo, will turn out to be a hit.
  All said and done about him lacking talent, ARR has a better fan following around the world than all the other MD's.
  One more thing, stop the mud slinging between ppl in malaysia and those in TN....it is childish.
  Let there be constructive critcism and stimulating discussions....Not biased and sloppy judgements.

  Check it out. Boys will be having music for only 3 songs by ARR. Rest are by Praveen Mani.

  This is a dream come true!!! I mean we had all predicted ARR won't be able to deliver or scr*w up some thing. Now he really did it.
  
  Where are all the ARR fans now?? They wanted to hide and only surface when they thought Boys is a hit. But the starting is already a scr*w up. So now how are the kotte ARR fans going to console each other now? Are they still going to write more craps to console each other? Let's wait & see.
