Pammal_K_Sambantahm Songs - DEVA & KAMAL win again !!!!!!

Deva & Kamal seem to have pulled it off yet again, after their successfull teaming up in AVVAI SHANMUGI...after watching the trailer, i felt DEVA has done a good job, going by just the FIRST IMPRESSION.And the trailer had one specific dance number...well...who said KAMAL is getting old ?

  Saw a small premier of Kamal's Pammal K Sammandam yesterday in TV.
  The music is nice. Also fantastic dancing.
  2 songs picturised in Newzeland.
  Looks like a fast movie and will be a mega hit.
  One song I remember. "Sakalakala vallavane... salavai seytha chandirane..." superb...
  Kamal told that the dubbing is over and will be definitely released for Pongal.

  No SPB in PKS ... I didn't buy the cassette ( I ususally don't buy ANYthing that Deva Scores :-), But saw the singers list, Kamal, HH, Srinivas etc., No SPB !

  i have also not bought the cassette. the music directors should know that they cannot choose the singers according to their whims and fancies without taking into account the sentiments of the listeners . But for the listenters, the tfm doesnt exist.

  kamalahasan should owe a great amount of his success to spb who has rendered almost all his songs till a few years ago with a majestic and royal class no one can bring about in the present day. This is the second successive movie that does not feature spb and in thenali it was a lone song. Kamal should understand that his songs in the record books will always be the ones of spb .

  SPB is not there in the album...but tell you what, it is one good album from Deva & Kamal combo. Better than AVVAI SHANMUGI. Worth the money.

  Folks,
  Never had any big expectation on this movie songs, given that MD is our Deva! Having said that, he has done a decent job. It is a crime not to have SPB sing for Kamal. What the hell is happening? SPB is still GREAT and is a long way from going the way of S.Janaki or Latha Mangeshkar or even a Jesudoss.

  I read all ur opinions first, then checked out raaga.com eagerly awaiting to hear those 'great' songs u all proclaimed they were.
  
  Hmm...on second thought, after listening to them, i thought they were quite mediocre.
  One or two catchy numbers but beside that, nothin special.

  Good album from deva after long time. Kamal is going to have big hit at box office with Pammal K sambantham in pongal 2002 after lukewarm response to alavandan in Nov & Dec 2001.

  The movie can be summed up like this. It is an absolute entertainer with all that you expect in a Kamal-Crazy Mohan combo. Catch it ASAP. It's worth the 3 hours of your time. Laugh.......hard....

  I tend to disagree with musical part of the film...The review says "...The music of Deva is disappointing, as he has rehashed a couple of old hits...". Penne Kaathal and Kandasamy are good songs.

  Well i saw the movie last week 2nd day of Ponggal, anyway among the comedy base movies which Kamal Sir acted i think he has done a good job as he did previously in his all movies, well he is still the SAKALAKALAVALAVAN...( in Avvai Shamugi-mammy/Indian-Old Man(Full of Energy)/Thenali-coward of anything/Alavanthan-An Officer & Psycho well its very interesting that a person can act in a lot of creator, & CONGRATULATIONS SIR..

  I got to see PKS yesterday. This movie is a laugh riot. I liked it better than Tenali. Crazy mohan delivers big time in this one. Sakalakala and Kadothkaja are the two songs that are catchy. Every 1 chips in with good comedy while the Kamal steals the show with his timing. Simran does a decent job.

  Movie is good, laughable,
  But I can't say the same for the songs,
  
  'EeeNdi soodaamaNi' very well fits into the situation - well done Deva (& Anu Shriram), other songs are not very catchy / hummable !
