  am an IR fan(who loves selected ARR numbers, including Lagaan) but i dont take up an aruval and pursue the ARR-lovers here....
  WELL DONE ARR Sir...u just rubbed it in to the northies as to where the best music comes from!!!

  Prabhu, at lest north recognises south. The problem in south is that we don't recognise local talents and let north & west pinch our talents and make it a HIGHLIGHTS. Its really shame on us !!!

  Do you guys know that his "Bombay Dreams" is havign a dream run in London .. the show has been extended till next March.. i also read somewhere that Madonna has expressed interest in acting in the show.. isnt that an honor ??

  Maybe te songs did not appeal to us cause it was a rehash of his old songs. But wasnt those songs a big hit here when they were released in their respective languages ???
  As ARR and ALW always said the intended market/audience is not INDIA. It is outside INDIA.. i clarify, it is not even for Indians living outsite India (like u and me...) but just for non-indians, who have not heard those songs before, and who are living outside INDIA.
  It did very well appeal to them, as they are hearing the music for the first time and thus the show is marked a HIT !!!!

  Basically there is nobody else there to receive the national award. It is to motivate this guy to stay on the scene. But, imagine if Lagaan got, then every IR movie should'v fetched IR national awards for him.
  
  Basically, i think this is a shock, there is no bullsit period music, everything for mostly western in that movie' music.

  Tis may be redundant, but anyway they showed a brief interview wit ARR on Sun News about wat some of the winners had to say. He was speaking in Tamil, but here's the translation by the reporter:
  "I am very happy [santhoshamaairuku]. This is my third national award. I got the first one for Roja and the second for Minsara Kanavu. Now for a Hindi movie. The first two were for Tamil films.
  Now I've got more responsibilities [poruppunarchi]."
  ARR has lost weight and looks as cute as usual.

  lagaan had some simply amazing music......so now dat ARR has got 3,adutha varsham entha padam-a irukkum-nu ninaikkareenga?? :)
  
  and....two of the "most bashed" singers in this DF have won awards too....Udit and Sadhana! :).....ans Sadhana Sargam got it for the Tamil Film..."Azhagi"!! :)

  Of course he did MIF. After he founded radium, he insisted tat marie curie take the credit for it and made it clear tat he did not want even a single noble prize. He is a Genius! Long Live the Genius!
