music lover: this is one of the very few threads that has been free from the infection of ir/arr fan wars. seems like you want to prove that you are new strain of virus. there is another thread called ragas of songs. plesae do your kaingaryam there too.
uv: for months now there has not been much of creative output in this thread; only some tech discussion. maybe the perceived slump in the economy is keeping people away from music(making). anyways, ... . please ignore posts (from the) like(s of) the one above. are you still in the same place?

Music lover (you are not one!) for you
kind f. information, musicians here are peaceful from the fights, there was no need for you post the article, might be this the first time you are learing to use the web, people here have read that and they know what they do. they are all really talented people who dont waste their time like you in posting the same crap and justifying it. now just keep away from this thread. UV and arul continue guys, we are all hearing your stuff. Ignore the ML.genius.

UV: Welcome back. There hasnt been any new music from anybody here lately. I moved to a new place closer to city and I'm sort of finding it hard to sit down and concentrate on music. There's always something or other happening.
aruLaracan: Nice hearing from you after so long.
Siva: Good to see you go live! All the best again.
Where is everyone else? Drop in a Hi if you are here.

Hi Good to hear from you folks
Yes Arulacaran slump economy has spoilt our creativity as all of us kind of concentrating on our jobs right now I guess :)
Jay good to hear from you.
Hows Aditya,Eswar,Srikanth and Swamiji
haven't heard from them in yeons.
I do visit all of you guys mp3 site
And finally Mr.Music Lover what a name (oxymoron)
Well please dont judge people,my point was we all know IR is a genius and he doesn't need none our appreciation or acknowledgement,he is beyond that.
Every musician in TN and in south is invariably inspired by him. So keep your guns at rest
This is the only thread in this forum where people agree and disagree with grace and in a constructive manner so lets try to keep it that way.
Unfortunately looks like most of the old timers have all left this forum long ago,sad indeed.
TFM mgmt do need to monitor and restore sanctity of this forum back to its glorious days.

Hi Guys
Here is some very very different music to cheer you all up,ofcourse its my favourite guru
Jai Uttal's music
Hare Shiva Shankara
http://www.jaiuttal.com/real/HaraShivaShankara.ram
set to shivaranjani raga
superb bass runs ,drumming and watch out for the mindblowing trumpet lead
Be With you
http://www.jaiuttal.com/real/BeWithYou.ram
This one is somewhat IRish Pop like composition
but melodious
I won't Ask for More
http://www.jaiuttal.com/real/IWontAskForMore.ram
enjoy
Arulacran I know you are into this kind of music
but Jai Uttal is an extraordinary musician
who amalgamates Eastern Western in a beautiful harmony never done before and its not a cheap fusion.
Jey like to know your comments also

UV,
I had decided not to post in this forum again. But I had to welcome you back and ask you how your vaccation was. The types of Music Lover have really spoiled the fun of posting and discussing here. Anywayz, I am having a creative block and am too tired after my work. So, I am not able to release any music these days. It is too taxing on my mind. Hopefully, it is a temperory thing.
Anywayz, welcome back.

UV,
I was thinking of this exact thing. But was not sure how to go about it. Since, I know to write CGI programs, I was thinking of creating a web forum myself and host it on my webserver, if I put up my own website. I am just procrastinating my homepage, due to various compulsions. If I get a website of my own, I am sure I can put up a discussion board for us, and if possible use only posting rights by invitation, or a more strictly moderated forum - though browsable by all. Let me see if I can pull it up. The trouble is I won't be able to host attachments there. If anybody else has any other ideas, let us go for that too.

Hi Guys:
I have become a silent watcher of this page:-))
These days more international travel and moved into a new home. Whatever it's there's no creative block but the problem is the time to sit and execute them. A big Hi from me to all the forum guys. I know Srikanth is very busy. Ymsgr is a good choice and we can set up time to join in conference call.

UV: I like Jai Uttal's music. Very inspired and deep.
Hey, seems Imaan - the new music director in Tamil uses Cubase and Nuendo. He probably uses Cubase for sequencing and Nuendo for mastering.
I happened to read his interview somewhere on the net.
Aditya, good to see you man.
Jay.

Jay
Yes Jai Uttal is uncrowned king of unique cultural music I never imagined listening to superb Jazz or blues or funky music with traditional indian bhakti songs sync so beautifully.
BTW which is easy to learn and use
cubase or cakewalk ?
I also have fruity loops with me
- From: Jay (@ 209.10.124.134)
on: Mon Jul 22 14:23:07 EDT 2002
I think both Cakewalk and Cubase are equally good. Sonar is the latest version of cakewalk and there's also Cubase SX which is a new totally redesigned Cubase.
Although I have Cubase, I havent gotten comfortable using it as the sequencer. The flow only comes with the one on Triton..but then you're limited to using 16 tracks.

on: Mon Jul 22 14:55:40 EDT 2002
Protools is the ultimate even if it takes longer to learn. But it's worthy of the time that you invest in learning. FruityLoops is fun.

Jay:
Triton sequencer is good undoubtedly until you want to venture out as following:
- Using Non-triton yet a better sound sample.
- Adding Vocal Tracks.
- Recording other natural instrument tracks.
For Instrumental songs, triton is self-sufficient for proof of concept.
I had fun composing and recording 2 songs with vocals, triton and natural percussion instruments like African UDU, Spring Drum, Kanjeera, Dholki, castanets, ghungroo, Mridangam and Dholak recently. We rented studio here. Learnt that Protools is really Great and purchased it. Learning it from the recording engineer. You can do a lot with the Protools...disk space is the limit and sound can be richest in your song.
Have Fun.
Regards,
Aditya
