Hi guys,lets dicuss on the best composition from each & every Md's in TFM ,let me show u what i think the best from these Md :

1.A.R.Rahman = Pennala Pennala - Uzhavan
2.Illaiyaraja = Kadhal Oviyam - Alaigal Olivathillai
3.Vidyasagara = Malare Mounama - Karna
4.Yuvan Shankar Raja = Theenda Theenda - Thulluvadho Illamai
5.Karthik Raja = Sutrom Boomi - Dum Dum Dum
6.Harris Jeyaraj = Yetho Yetho - Laysa Laysa
7.Deva = Nalam Nalamariya aval - Kadhal Kothai
8.Baradwaj = Enakena aerkanave = Parthen Rasiten

IR's best has gotta be Janani Janani.
VS - Yar Yar sivam.
KR - Un perai sonnaley - Dum dum dum.
HJ - Vasigara.

hj doesnt deserve much credit on vaseegara as its just a tamil version of Bombay Awakes - Bombay dreams,just to inform u guys,i remember listening Bombay awakes in an arr website b4 at the year 2000!

I thought Vaseegra,Venmathi and poovey vai pesum bothu - 12B are some of HJ's best (Original) works!

There should be a correction Pennalla Pennalla Oothaappu tune is originally composed by Shankar Ganesh in Neela Malargal with lyrics "Pesum Mani Muthu Rojakkal". So it should be Shankar Ganesh's best.

One can very well agree that VS' best is "malarae mounamaa".

However the pick for ARR is inappropriate as it is a reuse from MSV's. It should be "veerapaaNdi kOttayilae" or some other song.

But honestly one song cannot be termed as best for ARR and it is definitely impossible in the case of IR.

Whatever you say about Venmathiye....i feel the song got lots of original input from HJ.
Roopkumar rathod's voice was pleasing and fresh.
I'm not a big HJ or YSR fan but its always nice if they come up with albums like 12B, Povellam kettupar etc.
You've started a thread fair to every MD, let it go that way.

you had answered it. it is as same as dum marO dum-Yaen purushan thaan. No one can deny the inspiration and reuse in the later versions (be it peNNalla or it Yaen purushan thaan).

and by any count MSV's original is melody-wise far better than its descendent by ARR, and hence IMHO it is not a showcase of best of ARR songs.

I still maintain it is indeed very difficult to point one song of ARR as his best.

Back to the topic.
Snehidaney is a beautiful song but its very difficult to say if it is ARR's best unless you know the nuances of Music!

if you just wanna use soul as a yardstick then Chodo morey baiyan will be right there.

If it is reverberating spirits then put Chale chalo from Lagaan.
Since his work is huge, can't really pick up the best.

who knows some other MD may have the original of "snehidanae" :P.

IMO snehidanae too is not the greatest of ARR :P
Anytime the greatness of "puththampudhu bhoomi vaendum" (or) "kaadhal rOjavae" would overtake "snehidanae".

one decent ARR song would be Kannaalaney.
But even then, its interludes are messed up bigtime.

same goes for Kadhalenum Therezhudhi. But as with the Kannalaney, there is utterly nonsensical "doli doli" stuff thrown in to ruin the overall song.

i think there is an unintended pun in this statement. SAR-Oda aellaa paattum orae paattu thaan. so its as good as saying the best SAR could give is that orae paatu (in)finite times so take "aedhO oru paatu" from those appadeengara maadhiri irukku.
