The Cassandra's can take a walk! Kamalhassan, the actor’s actor is all set to launch his new film under his own Raj Kamal Films. And the big news is that, he will be directing the film himself.

The film titled Chandiyar is the story of three Chenda (drum) artistes and their adventures. All the three are dark, evil and villainous characters. A Mumbai based actress will be the heroine. The shooting will start in April.

Kamalhassan, Satyaraj and Nasser play the three villainous characters. This combination is deadly and a welcome change from the usual mix. The music of Chandiyar will be by Ilayaraja. We can expect a lot of classical tunes for sure.

Hats off to Kamal for taking this bold and daring step, which we hope, will pay rich dividends at the box-office.

  By the way does anybod know who is the music director of Raj Kamal Film' another film, NALA DAMAYANTHI, in which R Madhavan and Shruthika are acting, The film is directed by Pammal K Sambantham director, Mouli.

  Although Kamal's recent movies have not been successful, at least the songs were. Now with IR back, Kamal is going from Universal Hero to Universal Zero! :)
  Remember Hey Ram? Anyone remembers the songs? :)

  The double speak is an inborn attitude of IR fans.
  The same people will again say that kamal is worst when he had lost money with this film's music and then goes out for some one who can atleast break even.

  First,
  ARR is expensive. Kamal will not give 2 crores when he is the producer. If it is AM Ratnam or somebody else, he will think differently.
  
  Secondly,
  Kamal will not choose IR if it is not absolutely necessary. The only good think he did for his Hey Ram was that he chose IR. Now he is teaming with IR again... which means he is looking for quality.

  IR and Chenda - let me tell you, this is the samayal that IR will be serving us soon - the best percussion stuff in the history of music will come from this combo! wow! Thanks IR and Kamal.   Kamal went to IR when he was deserted by LV and IR was the last choice.

  Kamal went to IR because he wanted good music for his film. It was he who deserted LV. Each song (other than ramanalum) was unique in Hey Ram. You need to have some musical knowlege to appreciate them.

  x, you need some knowledge before passing information. Kamal did consider IR for the film initially but decided against it. When LV and Kamal parted ways, he went to IR. Doesn't that make IR the last choice?

  Nee parkum paarvaikku Nanri is a lovely song from HeyRam. The bgm of HeyRam is splendid and very apt. No MD other than IR could have done justice to HeyRam. Even in KadamaiKanyam Kattupaadu , IR's rerecording got rave reviews. Am wishing them the best this time too.

  Alright, now, this is on the serious side. Only time will tell what we get from CHandiyar. On one hand, it can be a great album like 'Bharathi', 'Avatharam', 'Siraichalai', 'Julie Ganapathy', or....
  On the other hand, it could disappoint big time ('Devan' anyone?) All we can do is speculate.
