Ezgavathu Manithan has the Best Bharathiyar Songs So Far!!

Guys I am back Thanks to your kind words There do exist few good men out there!! :)
Now to the topic. I hope most of you are familiar with the movie Ezhavathu Manithan by Dir. Hariharan and debut movie of Mr Raghuvaran(i may be corrected on this). Its a nice movie with great songs. Most of songs are taken from Bharathiyar songs.
Excellently composed by Mr. L.Vaidyanathan eldest brother of the violin trio L.Subramanian and L. Shankar. I think best tuned songs of Bharathiyar songs so far is from this movie
songs like 'Kaakai Chiraginile','Veenaiyadi nee enakku' . The compositions are modern and semi classical as well.
What do you guys think

  I too have the same opinion on this.It had the best Bharathiar songs.KJY was excellent in Kakkai Chiraginile and also in 'Veenaiyadi nee enakku' with Neeraja.Another wonderful song is "Nalladhor veenai seithen" by Bharathi's grandson(correct me if I'm wrong).He has sung it very intensely."Aaduvome" by PS was good too.
  
  I saw the movie long time back.It was the debut film for Raghuvaran(I'm a big fan of his).This movie was screened at Film festival held in Russia
  (I'm not sure abt the place).I thought the film was good too.

  Very few movies had ONLY Bharathiar's songs. So I think this topic will have a longer life if you NOT ONLY consider the entire movie, but also consider movies like 'varumaiyin niRam sivappu' whis have at least one song by Bharathi.
  
  On those lines, there was a song in the movie, ini oru suthanthiram (Gangai Amaran). It goes like 'mOgaththaik kondruvidu...'. I know the first 2 lines are Bharathi's. How about the remaining lines of the song?

  You guys are right. Ezhavadhu Manidhan will be remembered for a long time for the wonderful songs. This is the only movie that has only Bharathiar songs. Not even Kappalottiya Thamizhan.
  This was a debut for Raghuvaran. The heroine was quite good too. She didnt get to play many movies after that I guess.

  folks thnks for the good feedback.
  In my school days our team won the first prize in inter school group singing competition for a song from this movie.
  Even today many schools sing these songs based on the tunes set in the film.
  Mr.IR also have come up with excellent composition in Sindhu Bhairavi 'Manathil Oruthi vendum'.
  Its once again my personal opinion that even recently released Bharathi songs doesnt impress me like Ezhavathu Manithan songs
  The only song that is good and hummable in my opinion is Nirpathuve and then 'Ninai charan' from the recent one.
  Please i am only trying to share my opinion with like minded people,if you find it wrong please u can always post under ur favourite topics of MDS
  thanks.

  The song is 'Nallathor Veenai' from the movie
  Varumai neram sikappu if i am right,there was also one more song in that movie i forgot.
  I think mr Deva also tuned a beautiful one in Revathi ragam for the DD for the song 'Kakai siraginile' that Deva was a active DD composer.

  One would be 'Sindhu nadhiyin...' from a Sivaji & Savithri starrer. The name doesnt come to my mind. Seergazhi has sung some songs in 'Kappalottiya thamizhan'

  'sindhu nadhiyin' by TMS is from 'kai kodutha theivam'.

  I thought 'mOgam ennum theeyil' was by Vairamuthu. The 'thaegam', 'moagam', 'yaagam' usage makes me think it is Vairamuthu.
  
  Has'nt anybody heard the song I mentioned? 'moagaththaik kondruvidu' by KJY and Chitra in 'ini oru suthanthiram'. Gangai Amaran was the MD. Unfortunately, 'paLLikkoodam poagaama' was a more popular song

  the song 'mogam ennum' is by VM. (there is a bharathiar song about mogam where the same feelings are expressed, and that might have been the inspiration for the sindhu bhairavi song, but the words are VM's).

  i disagree with u on 'nallathOr veenai'. That was a pleasant melody. But if u look at the lyrics, Bharathiar expresses his frustration, which was not brought out in the tune. listen to the same song in 'Bharathy' and u'll know the difference. this one brings out the feelings that bharathiar must have felt when he wrote this song.

  Thanks for the link i think it is a great site.
  It was also a different feeling to listen to old great Masters like MD Ramanathan,CRS, KV Mahadevan,MSV
  and others given life to Bharathy songs.
  I especially like MD Ramanathan composition
  thats also complete the list of male singers having sung bharathy's song
  CS Jayaraman,TMS,Seerkalai,KJY,SPB and Hariharan
  ofcourse bharathiar's great grandson Rajkumar
  who else
  Females the legend MLV,TKP,P Susheela

  Why do people want to start a thread with their opinion as the title ? It is very difficult to contribute to such a thread if one's opinion is different. Why not 'BharathiyAr songs in 7th manithan' that way if I have an observation about a song I can say without feeling obliged to contest the title of the thread ? UV think about this the next time you start a thread.
  
  Anyways, what happened to L Vaidyanathan after this movie ? I have a feeling L Subramaniam had a hand in 7vathu manithan. L Sub was talking about World Music/fusion in the context of Hey Ram as well. kAkkai chiraginilE had some electronic sounds in it, Very ambient. Didn't it ? Thats why I suspect L Sub's hand.

  LV was the MD for a couple of other movies. Salaam Bombay, Pushpak (Dialogue-less movie) were done by him. I think his latest movie, was dasarathan, a Sivakumar-Saratkumar starrer.
