Contnuing in Bones's vein and like an earlier poster( post seidhavar ).

How can the present generation accept IR's music. I think IR thinks too much of himself and takes the TFM fans for granted by churning out uninteresting tunes. I am thinking of meeting hm personally and give him contents of this thread and show how pained we are by his nonchalence. So DF'er please feel free and on no holds basis pour your comments. I shall go to India sooner or later to meet IR and personally give this to him.

Is this some kind of verdict on the IR Vs ARR discussions ? Frankly I fail to see the humour in it. You start off by classifying another person's preference as extremism. I believe that some people (your 'theevira IR rasigargal') suffer from a case of extremist expressions NOT EXTREMIST tastes. Unfortunately they don't seem to be able to express their appreciation of IR's music in a moderated manner. They tend to go overboard with it. But that does not deny the fact that they do get as much pleasure from IR's music as they claim. I can state without feeling the least bit undemocratic that I HAVE a right to choose and I have chosen - in my opinion that's what democracy is all about. If you can afford to be as nonchalant about music as to accepting every Deva, Sirpi and Vidaysagar (may I roast in hell if I mention that 3 letter A.. word again !), it does not automatically compel me to lower my sense of distinction to your's. If a person refuses to accept poorer quality I see that only as a credit to his integrity - I would not accuse him of fanaticism.

Finally, we must learn to agree to disagree. Just as IR fans (myself inclusive) do not have the right to force you to dump your favourite MDs ou too do not have the right to force us to accept them. Imagine if all of us agreed about all MDs. This wouldn't be a discussion forum.

guess1: Did you listen to Deva's latest album. Maan....thrills me to hell ! Just listen to those beats (actually, there's nothing else to listen to). Just listen to those empty void spaces between every vowel ! (I always thought it was full of hot air). And the new noise..ooops..sound that Deva has introduced....Mmmm...reminds me of my home town..by teh riverside...women washing clothes in the early morning sun !(actually the sound reminds you of those washerwomen thrashing the clothes against the rocks).

guess1: No you dumbo ! That was Sirpi ! Just like IR released his HTNI, Sirpi was greatly influenced by MJ and in his honour has released his interpretion of MJ's latest album (it's another matter that IR was not trying to compete with Bach's market locally!)

guess2: Wow ! Great man ! I believe Vidyasagar is going to be the MD for MR's new movie. I am sure he will give super hit songs ! He is especially talented in the BGM ! His music (what music?) is so beautifully integrated with the dialogues ! (anyone who has had the misfortune of listening to the absolutely pathetic dialogues in MR's movies will accept that only a Vidyasagar or Deva or Sirpi could do justice to it).

ARR songs are all copied from jingles. Listen to the 1978 Lyril soap ad where this wonderful woman in a green bikini is jumping up and down in a waterfall. The drum beat loop in that jingle is exactly the same as the one in "Then maerkku paruvak kaattru". Who is ARR trying to fool? Thamizhians are not fools! He can fool kuppan and suppan living in patti and thotti but he can't fool true music fans of Isaipporul, Isaiejamaan, Isainaarkkali, IR.
BTW, I'm so SICK of people not getting the truth about naadhabbrahmam IR's voice. Even Balamuralikrishna tried gargling his mouth with Pannaippuram jalli to be able to sing in several kattais at the same time like IR. If you don't like IR, then everything you write is IR--Idiotic Rhetoric.
And don't these guys know the richness of KR? Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was listening to Kaadhala Kaadhala songs before he died. His last wish was to sing a duet with Bhavadhaarini under KR's musical direction. He even asked KR for an opportunity, but KR is a strict methodist and does not allow experimentalist singers to ruin his jeevanaadiyulla geethangal, so KR sang it himself. Don't people understand that only a composer can bring out the soul of his composition? I think KR did the right thing by singing it himself instead of bringing in that overrated high pitch singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan. Also, KR's blending technology is centuries ahead of the rest. But I just shake my head and say KTKV. Ignorance is bliss. We the real music fans all know that IR is the world's greatest composer who is better than anyone who ever lived or ever died.
It is just this jealous media and the whole gang in TF industry who want our kadavul to fall on hard times. They forget that we the eternally faithful of IR who will not poison our beings by listening to any alien sounds(except only to listen to one or two ARR tunes only to confirm what we already know--they are all copied from jingles)will bring him back to his throne through postings in the newtfmpage. We love you IR.
