Hi,
Yes it is a very pathetic situation, Atleast producers can give him chance instead of giving it Deva, In Kaadala Kaadala he really gave some extra ordinary compositions. Any day he is a better musician than Deva,Sirpi and the gang.

Hi everybody
I agree with people who feel that KR has been suppressed. It is indeed unfortunate especially because he does have some really refreshing ideas when it comes to compositions and grammar, let alone his instrumentation.
I sincerely feel that the song 'Vandhaal Vandhaal Rajakumari..' from Bhagyaraj's 'Oru ooril oru Rajakumari' is not composed by Raja but by KR. At the very least I can say that it has 80% KR touch and only 20% Raja feel to it. I have come to this conclusion after listening to the scale shifts the instrumentation etc (very similar instrumentation in 'Pandiyanin raajiyathil ooyalala'). Infact the the words "Karthikai Perrunaalam" which occurs in the pallavi and ""sangama thirunaalam" are subtle indications by the lyricist (cleverly conceived) that Karthik Raja is involved and playing "mangala isai ketkum" (in the lines again) and probably KR and Raja are united in doing this song (sangama thirunaalam).
Can somebody comment? Am I halucinating or has anybody else felt the same? Srikanth since you know KR personally do you feel the same? If infact this song is done by KR it is a shame that he is not recognized as this is a wonderful melody.

Are you all sure that he doesn't have any movies on hand. From what I have read it seems that he is working on a couple of new films, although I don't remember the names and YSR is also working on a couple of movies, let alone the albums that he has planned to work on.

I thought i wsa the one alone about thie issue. It seems that everybody is having the same opinion.
Its relaly disturbing to see a man with such a potentiality is being suppressed by the film industry.
new MD's like bharathwaj, agosh etc are getting chances why not KR?
in what way has he prved that he is unacapable of doing ggod music. Most of his films were real time hits.
he is capable of giving a good melody like "saravana bhava" and ultimate dapanguthu like "kasumeley"
why?
There must be some reason for this.
Hs he gone down cos of his dad (IR)--people who don't like IR also turning down KR?

Dear readers,
I'm very glad to hear you concern about our promising music director ( KR ).I too heard that he is concentrating on his new film Naalai. What you people think about his HINDI score, ' GRAHAN '.

Shashi:
Touche. KR's touch is fully evident in the marvellous "vandhal vandhal". I also feel that he's been dominant in the foll. IR scores
1 thendral vandhu - avatharam
2 kannale kaadhal kavidhai - aathma
3 endhan nenjil - kalaignan
4 ennai thaalatta - kadhalukku mariyadhai
5 meetatha oru veenai
what do you folks think? IMO, no MD today other than IR or ARR can give as sophisticated a score as "unakkenna raasa" (manikkam). It's extremely puzzling if he's in a self-imposed exile waiting for a big bang, or other political factors are at play.
Zham:
"Grahaan" was a good score, esp. Kehte and Nacho Jaise (as good -or bad!- as Dil Se's Jiya Jale)
I think he could probably turn out to be the best exponent of the chorus & background humming in songs judging by his skillful use in many songs.
It's either been a poor banner or a big-banner flop that pulls him down; he needs a solid hit to comeback. I'm sure we'll listen to some exciting scores once his confidence is back.

shashi,
i can understand u'r reasoning. i personally feel that it is ironical perhaps, that KR was able to come out with better scores when he is working for his dad than when he was working alone! is it because IR knows how to extract stuff from his son better?
KR's role in 'thendral vanthu' was in the BGM which was beautiful. I wish KR to be atleast successful in driving deva out of TFM. i think sirpi is already down and out, unless some miracle happens.

hi,
i guess KR is busy doing the orchestrisation work for his father's songs., i saw the list given by people here., what i feel is almost 90% of latest IR songs have KR touch atleast in instruments & chorous part. & i think he sacrifices his MD position to help his father & no problem - he has a long way to go.
IMO, Grahan is 120% better than 'Dil se' & its cassette sales is less than 10% of 'dil se' sales., luck illai yaar !
'Unakkenna raasaa.,' from 'manikkam' is an excellent composition & PSusheela is simply great in that song., another similar KR song i liked was 'veesum kaatRukku.,' - GREAT !

Hi folks,
KR is very talented MD.
I think IR should have brought him to the field by the late 80's itself.
Given the oppurtunity he has done an excellent job.
Tke the case of Grahan. He has done an amazing score.
I just loke yeh soch.....
In ullasam the BGM was really amazing.
I still remember in the hindu movie review of amaidi padai they had praised IR for the BGM. Especially the flute pices when satyaraj meets ranjitha and during the chasing scene of ranjitha.
Finally in an interview of KR I came to know that he did the BGM.
I think if he works with directors like Mani, shankar, RG.verma he will def. prove a point.
As srikanth mentioned KK was really excellent.
He is budding MD. we guys should def. encourage this lad.
I wish that he will reach new heights in the TFM soon.
If this situation continues in the TFM it will be a monopoly with ARR. I meant to say that ARR dosn't break often from his standard format of music.
I think good directors should make way for this guy.
IMO KR is far better MD than the sirpi deva, vidy...... gang
I rate him next to ARR even commercialy in the music field.
All he needs is luck and fortune.
I wish him the best

buddy,
i would personally refrain from adding vidyasaagar to the list of deva and sirpi. vidyasaagar stands way above them. he also established himself with hits from karna, arasiyal, pudhayal and his recent uyirodu uyiraaga
is definitely better and is also doing well commercially.
he is a composer who tries to sound diffreent in each one of his albums. his latest album delhi durbaar has a couple of pleasing songs.
the songs are in the site
http://www.tamilmovies.com
i think the songs are numberes 1 through 5.
