  attagasam is a tamil movie that i saw after a long time(Boys was the last tamil movie i saw)......it was good, and ajit has done a good job.....and answering to the question here it is not at all a cheap low class action movie, but an usual masala story.....

  Attagasam is a first class film not a low class film.Ajith has come back to the race.Among the collections in the Deepavali releases Attagasam stands first.This is a victory for ajith and for his self confidence and sincerity.

  x,who wrote that dictionary???ur girlfriend's mom????accroding to me cheap low class action movie is the ones like rajini's hindi movies where he used to kill 2 people with 1 bullet by spliting them with a knife...Attagasam was nuthing new but tell me which movies are new and fresh in Tamil......invariably hero is a rowdy who outsmarts the other rowdy(villian).....all movies are then "low class action"....

  You don't seem to get it do u?
  Even if chimpu has only one fan in this world (not me definitely!) You can't generalize and comment like that in a forum. Reserve such comments for a get together with your friends.
  The easiest thing to do in this world is to put down somebody and say a whole bunch of ppl (in your case TN, other classic example is to say ppl of UP and Bihar are hopeless!! what do any of us know abt those states to make such a statement.) suck or are being stupid. When same kind of comments are expressed against your favourite(everyone knows who that is), you feel hurt isn't it. That is why I said GROW UP!!!

  As a matter of fact, Ajit's loud mouth is not helping his cause and Chimpu's silence over Mandmadhan has proved indeed.

  Better Ajit concentrate on good movies like his forthcoming one with Bala and not on craps under the "Commercial Blanket" like GOD FATHER.. which might turn out to be a Lame horse among the big releases next summer.

  Simbhu's perfomance in Manmathan....is really great......even though he have to learn a lot more...but he didn't sufficiently enough in this movie...
  
  and for ajith,
  i just can't seem to accept him as a capable hero anymore...he is simply wasting his time in movie...he dances like..buff....and overacts!..

  Paran, the only thing sufficiently enough in the movie was the buly stature of Ajit. Just compare his current stature with those in his films such as Unnai Kody ennai tharuven and KK.
  
  Ever since Dheena, where he started to remove his moustche, he has become lot fat and that is not helping his cause.
  
  He is surviving only because of some die-hards shouting "Thalai" at the top of their voices..
  
  Matter of time it subsides unless he gives a strong performance and Bala's film is a good opportunity to do so.

  Please allow me to share my comments on the issue:Ajit was a good looking,ok actor but as someone pointed out from 'dheena'he has become very fat&looks horrible on screen.He should reduce weight pronto,keep his mouth firmly shut&stop taking potshots at Vijay.As for Simbu,i hate his father&from the little i have seen of him on TV,his punch dialogues&finger plays are irritating.He is getting good reviews for Manmathan&for the first time i feel like seeing a Simbu movie.if he has really done a good job,he deserves appreciation but i hope he doesn't go back to the Alai,Dham,Kuthu kind of films.Vijay was very unimpressive to start with but 11 years in the industry has obviously improvred his acting skills.he is a good dancer&has maintained his youthful looks.Dhanush has horrible looks but that's his strenght&he will survive by doing movies with interesting plots.I don't think he can ever be a regular hero.Of course there are actors like current flavor Vikram who has stabilized&Madhavan who also will last for some time.There is no other new/fairly new actor worth mentioning in tamil cinema today.

  Cinefan, you do reflect my thoughts as well to some extent (On Ajit and Simbu).
  
  I think Dhanush will be back with Adhu Oru Kanaa kaalam, a Balu Mahendra movie with Ilayaraja music.. lots of scope for acting.. not sure if the movie will run.. I pray it should run.
  
  Though am not a Vijay fan, I like his decision to make standard movies to cater to his fans like 3 stunts, 5 songs with 2-3 for front benchers etc and he is getting good directors to work like Cheran in Diary. But he should avoid movies like Madurae.
  
  Though Vikram has established as the Numero Uno, Anniyan will decide his fate once again as he seems to have spent lots of time on the film with no other back-up films to release immedietly after that.
  
  Among other Heros, I think Surya rather than Madhavan is now a front-runner.. to be honest.. he has replaced Ajit in the race with Vijay and Vikram.. but he will stay at No: 3 in this race for some more time. Ironically Mirattal, supposed to be an Ajit starrer is now a Surya starrer.

  surya, again a star's son......i will give my thalai(Maddy) better marks than surya cos he was a no one when he did "ghar jamai" and "saaya"(zee tv)......see i think u shuld appreciate ppl. who have come on their own.....
  
  and in that case i wud place ajith also very high as had vijay also a star's son in the competition for so long.....Ajith was hopeless until kadhal kottai came in....i have a friend who knows ajith personally and he says he is one hell of a hardworker esp after he married Shalini.......neway these are my comments and i'm sitting pretty far away from TN(not an NRI) so idunt know wat the real mood is out there......
