Harris Jeyaraj's sarcasm words on A.R.Rahman

Opening line of Harris Jayaraj's acceptance speech on receiving the 2004 Tamil Filmfare Award for Best Composer, "Tamizhnattu makkallukku nadulaye irundhu tamizhukkaga vela seyiradhala peruma padaren"

Translation: "I take pride in being amongst the people of Tamil
Nadu and working for Tamil"

The thing is ,he said im proud to be in Tamil Nadu and working for
Tamil. I mean saying proud to be working for tamil would have been
enough. Indirectly this means there may be others (OFcourse ARR) who
may be busy working abroad or in bombay,working for other
languages,and not doing enough tamil

  Harris Jeyaraj has got style in composing, but also u can see lot of overconfidence in his interviews. fello did not click in the hindi market.
  
  not surprising. but he is sure that he knows where he belongs. there was a famous debut guy in malayalam , jerry amaldev. after his first super hit film, he gave an interview and straightaway declared he wants to move to bombay to establish in hindi films. if you make like that statements, you don't know what you want and you won't get support. first, if you find sustaining in your home base itself is difficult, then you try like Rahman bollywood, etc..
  
  but, harris jeyaraj is slow and steady, but also sometimes maybe arrogant.

  In the same genre can we say that Sachin Tendulkar found sustaining in league cricket he moved to Ranji Trophy. There also lots of competition. So he moved to international cricket.

  F e r r a r i: if you can't "belong" to home base, then you can't belong anywhere. Robin Singh is one example, i think (not sure)
  
  but, the story is: jerry amaldev made that statement about being a hindi composer, after that he had one or two more hits (songs,i mean) and faded away. perhaps, producers must have told him get lost to hindi films. or, he must have gone to bombay and returned without being able to negotiate with the don culture there.
  
  (thank Kamal and IR for being wise about not sticking around there. In fact, I think IR' was freaking out on orchestra to psyche the msuciains there, than focus on melody in his songs for Sadma, look at all the songs.)

  Well,am an ARR fan,i don't like HJ...but why we should derive so much inference from some award acceptance speech(that too only filmfare..not a national award like hungama)
  
  We have heard more such sarcasms on Rahman by dumbs like Anu malik,Nadeem shravan etc...(Remember Nadeem's 70/100 marks for 'Taal',and 100/100 for his 'Pardes'.
  It's better leave them that way..rather than starting a thread like this...anyway i don't feel there was anything so sarcastic in HJ's speech.Even if it is so,what's the matter there..incapables derive pleasure by sarcasting.

  Harris is entitled to his opinion just like anyone else in the industry, what is your problem with it? Dont like it? Go jump into a well.
  
  Interesting comparison of ARR with Robin Singh - Robin hammered 5-6 hundreds and took some 20-25 wickets for TN in Ranji 1988-89 and walked into the Indian team. But became a spent force on the international arena. In due course flopped in the domestics as well. Very much like an MD who came with a 'bang' in 1992 :-)

  dinesh.... see... there was no poison in his words. thats why you read it for the first time and didn't think of anything bad. the poison was injected into your mind when someone poisonously misinterpreted hj's sentence to an anti-arr statement. that's where the poison came from, not from hj.
