P.Susheela-Ilayaraja combination (revised)

One of the TFM pages, someone told “ PS sung 148 songs for IR. (proof.:raajangahm.com “). Someone replied “ no, so many songs are missing”. I just started collecting the songs. Very interesting part is “ some good numbers of IR is sung by PS in telugu
“ chinnathayaval thantha raasaave” – dalapathi ( SJ in tamil)
“valayosi kalakalakala ena kavithaigal - sathya (lata mangehkar in tamil)
“naanoru sindhu, kavadi sindhu” - sindhu bhairavi ( chitra in tamil)
“ore naal unai naan nilavil paarthathu”– ilami oonjaladugirathu ( VJ in tamil)
“kanna varuvaya mere ketkiral” -- manthil uruthi vendum (chitra in tamil)
“manjolai kili thano, maan thano” –kizhake poghum rayil
“ithayam poghuthe,enaye pirinthe” – puthiya vaarpugal (jency in tamil)

  Kalai: I would dispute those numbers posted in raajangham. That is not an offical count of Legend PS's colloboration with the Maestro. I always thought she contributed more than 225 songs under IR second after S Janaki and probably KSC who must be in the 800 range. Thanks for the info and lets keep revising the figures

  I hope the count will be nearer to 300. Hope we can collect. Between 1976-82 lot of songs were rendered by PS. We dont have much details on those days movies. So many were dubbed in telugu, ofcourse she could have rendered in telugu also.

  Raj, I know that IR is the MD for Engka Ooru Kaavakaaran.
  There isone more movie called Engka Ooru Poovayee and MD is Deva. It is also ramarajan gowthami combination.

  In telugu "manjolai kili thaano" is a duet and it is by SPB and PS. recently I have got this song from "ilayaraja telugu hits" casette. I am sure that it is by PS.
  "Vaarthai Illaamal Oru Kadhai Sollavaa - Thunai IruppaaL Meenaatchi " -- thank you for this song.

  Have you noticed these songs.
  
  1.kasthuri mane kalyana thene kacheri paadu ( pudhumai penn) –sunantha in tamil and PS in telugu
  2.radha radha nee yenge, kannan enge naan ange – meendum kokila –SJ in tamil and PS in telugu
  3.sangathamizh kaviye, santhangal sollum isai kuyile –manathil uruthi vendum—KSC in tamil and Ps in telugu.
  4.Aarum athu aazhamille , athu serum kadalum aazhamille – (sathyaraj movie) and in telugu version it is by PS. (tamil it is a male version)
  5.tham thana tham thana thhalam varum, puthu raagam varum –(pudhiya vaarpugal) –Jency in tamil and PS in telugu.

  "Aarum athu aazhamille , athu serum kadalum aazhamille" is from Muthal Vasantham. It also has a female version, sung by Uma Ramanan. Interestingly, this song is there in Malayalam also, sung by KJY. I happened to listen to the KJY version a few years back when I was tuning my radio !

  "Aarum athu aazhamille , athu serum kadalum aazhamille" male version is by IR in Tamil and KJY in Telugu. Looks like the female version has been given to PS in Telugu.

  "Aarum athu aazhamille , athu serum kadalum aazhamille" has both male & female versions in Tamil and Telugu. Therefore I would expect that a female version of this song also exists in Malayalam. Can somebody clarify whether such a song exists or not ? And if exists, is it by PS ?

  Naan siriuthal deepavali Telugu song by PS.

  Alaigal Oivadhillai Telugu version Seethakoka chiluka had many songs by VJ except one by Ps and the other by SP sailaja.SJ didnt sing in it.

  I have a list of 200 songs in SPB+PS combination. In "raajangahm.com", I got information as "spb sings around 1000 songs for IR". so many are missing, in worst case, we can find another 500 songs. Moreover, IR's movie count is around 800, and may another 200 dubbing movies can be taken into account. The songs count can be "5000 to 6000?". So, how can I find 20,000 songs. But, I wish, let the combination produce that many numbers of songs.

  I say u have done a great job. Hats off to u!! I also saw your list of PS songs on some other thread. Also, many months ago u had posted a list of Carnatic based songs by PS in tel,tamil,mal,kannada on a thread "p susheela solos", when i had asked for the same.
