"The album kicks in with the very catchy ye ye ennachu sung by Vasundhara Das in manner that only she can. Next is a beauty of a ballad sonnalum by Unnikrishnan and Harini.
Vaan nila by Srinivas and Karthik is a highly innovative rock-n-roll track that would not let your feet rest. S P Balu is in his usual fantastic form in the heart warming yenthan vanin. Rahman takes off again into a very progressive FTV style track in bailmore with T R Simbu and Tippu doing the vocal honours. And the album ends on a grand note with Mano and Clinton going for the gut with o kadhale, which also sits on an emotional high note in the movie.
Kaadhal Virus has all the ingredients of a typical Kathir-A R Rahman soundtrack. A great mix of upbeat youthful tracks and soulful ballads"

Has you been smitten by Kaadhal Virus yet?
Jarshad NK
Kaadhal Virus Sony Music, Rs 45
Say what you want about A R Rahman's music, but there is little doubt
that he is one of the few innovative composers around. And it is this
trait of the `Mozart of the East' that comes to the fore in Kathir's
Kaadhal Virus.
The album is a cocktail of different musical styles _ rock'n roll,
trance, pop, carnatic... and more. All the songs are good and potential
superhits. There are six songs, out of which three are likely to be
more popular among the younger generation because of their fast tempo
and racy beats.
Vasundhra Das excels in the opening track Ye Ye Enna Aachu. In the
beginning, her voice is smooth and very relaxed _ almost to the extent
of being labelled sleepy _ but midway through it transforms and is full
of energy. Also, the enthusiasm with which she delivers the number is
infectious and makes the listener want to hum along with her. P Vijay's
lyrics for the song are simple and refreshing. Moreover, unlike other
lyricists, he doesn't unnecessarily use English words for a fast
number. Another highlight of the song is the mixing.
But it is not the best song of the cassette. That honour goes to Vaan
Nila _ a song that is reminiscent of Elvis Presley's rock'n roll style.
Though the tune is not an easy one, Sreenivas and Karthik have rendered
the number with aplomb. Janarthanan on the saxophone is also
impressive.
On the flip side, T R Simbu _ son of T Rajender _ who will soon make
his debut as a hero, has combined with Tippu for Baila More. This is a
very progressive track with heavy beats. Also, there is a lady singing
in French in the background for added affect. Wonder if Vaalee wrote
the lyrics for her too.
The other three songs are melodious and rendered by three of the best
singers in the Tamil music scene today _ S P Balasubramainam, Mano and
Unnikrishnan. The lyrics are also well written, especially in the song
Sonnallum by Vaalee.
Another good aspect about the album is that the lyrics have been
printed on the cassette cover. This will gladden the hearts of many
karaoke enthusiasts.
This also the first time that Sony Music has bought the audio rights of
a regional film.

Run is No.1
KV no. 2
and Lesa Lesa at 3.
This is according to NIE (city Express) Chennai edition. So, I have not generated these news as some body who do such tactics regularly. I have proofs in hand to prove.
One more point. These ratings..I give a damn to it. I don't believe them at all. But many here do believe that and have quoted such ratings and analysis when they felt that it conviniently fitted their case. So I am doing it here just to show that I can also lift the bamboo stick if need be.

PART 2: ON KADHAL VIRUS
Interviewer: First of all, can you say abit about Kadhal Virus? About the musical score?
ARR: Kadhal Virus musical score is more like a Celebration of Love and a mix between the separation and the celebration. In general, the mystique of love...it comes and goes...
[Ye Ye Enna Aachu Picturisation is shown]
Interviewer: Since you came into the industry, you have scored music for Kadhir's four projects: Kadhalar Dinam, Kadhal Desam, Uzhavan and now Kadhal Virus. The music for all four have been Super Duper hits. Do you share a very special relationship with Kadhir?
ARR: If you take Kadhir as a person, he is an artist first and then he became a director. He has got this influence of the other side more. He believes in the conscience of painting; he talks in terms of frames, etc. Generally, when it comes to making music, he likes good melodies and he has his own way.
He has always worked with Valee from the start. So with this as well, Valee has given some incredible stuff.

Hey what happened to you, Are u caught by the Virus ???
Hey!! Hey!! Enna aachu unakku [Hey, what happened to you] is the most talked about song in the Tamil world. A R Rahman coming back with his youthful tune and Vasundra Das rocking the teenagers world with her shakalaka voice in the movie Kadhal Virus. Similar song to the one in Nayak [Mudhalvan in Tamil], this has a hip-hop tune and in the lyrics the girl asking her guys to be of certain principles and qualities, many of them are youthful and some really useful.
This is A R Rahman's come back music after Bombay Dreams because his music for Baba [Rajinikanth's latest movie] was criticized for lack of attention given to songs and background score. The movie also sports 5 more songs each of a different variety. TR Simbu, the latest addition to the youngster heroes in tamil has contributed a techno song to this movie called 'Bailamore'. 'Vaannila' by Srinivas and Karthik is the next best after 'Sonnalum' in the melodious mood rendered by Unnikrishnan and Harini. SP Balasubramanian with his evergreen voice also comes back after some time with a melodramatic 'Enthan Vaanin'.
Kadhal Virus is the most expected movie with Kathir’s direction. His previous movies have been trendsetters like Idhayam[Heart], Kadhal Desam[World of Love] and Kadhalar Dinam[Valentines Day]. However it is a feast for A R Rahman lovers.
