Andhra's favourite Music Director, R P Patnaik in TFM

R P Patnaik, the name may be new for TFM listeners, but he is considered as the Number ONE music direcor in Andhra Pradesh (Telugu Industry). R P Patnaik is so famous in Telugu, that Mega Star Chiranjeevi asked him to compose one song last year for his previous film Indra, which had music by Mani Sharma.

R P Patnaik has super hits in Telugu for films such as;

Chitram (which was dubbed in Tamil).
Nuvve Nenu (which is remade in Hindi with Tushar and Anitha as Yeh Dil).
Eashwar.
Jayam.

Now Jayam which was directed in Telugu by Tejaa, is being remade in Tamil as; Jayam starring new comers (same heroine Sada). The same music scores from the Telugu Jayam will be used in Tamil Jayam as well. The Telugu Jayam, song, Naanu Raanu... was used by our own copy cat Deva in Vijay's, Bhagavathy as Kai Kai vakkira..., a straight lift.

Telugu music lovers accepted, Vidhyasagar, Deva, Ilayaraja, A R Rahman, Harris Jayaraj. Will Tamil music lovers accept R P Patnaik, like Mani Sharma??

  Dubbing songs never work in any language for that matter. Eg. Super Police, Asokan, Ootam etc. by Ar Rahman.
  Original songs always have their place. Let RBP score atamil original and lets see.
  Lets not hype his music capabilities and be his own demon..

  R.P.Patnaik doesn't have that much calibre like Mani Sharma.His songs are monotonomous.He didnt even work in 25 movies before that people start thinking that he is repeating the tunes.The bad part is that he use to sing most of the songs in his movies which is really absurd.Already we have hell lot of composers in our industry.. I dont think RPP has something unique to stand in our industry which has rich knowledge on music.

  RP is big con man. He recycled cleverly for few movies. And the secret is out. Right now is no more. He is just banking on one director Teja who gives hime life. Rest all his films the music sucked big time.
  
  His problems:no versatality. same set of instruments, he sings all songs (he has a female voice), and very few tunes and uses them again and again.
  
  SA Rajkumar is much better.

  RPP is good . Can you name any MD who does not uses his old tunes with some modifications..?
  There is a lot of MDS who do that..

  SAR
  HJ
  Mani Sharma
  Anu Malik
  IR
  MSV
  YSR and most of all the MDs do thaat. Don't say only RPP does that. You can enjoy his songs..

  says that RP has a string of flops and nobody is touching him with a barge pole.
  
  Tamil film is dominated by Vidyasaga, Yuvan, ARR, IR, Deva, Harris etc. It is very difficult for a new MD. Mani Sharma had to struggle (his Narasimma) was flop, but he had to give a melodious album like Shajahan to settle. So it is not easy to straight away take a telugu song and put in tamil. RP may not survive.

  RP is a history even in Telugu now.
  He is just 3 film wonder and after those 3 films, he started lifting IR, Vidyasagar tunes, folk songs from other languages and finally his own songs.

  RPP is not very great MD.Manasantha nuvve is a hit movie.So th songs are popular.

  hmm..what a pity ! I was of the opinion after hearing the song "nee tolisaariga" frm telugu movie "santhosham" that Patnaik is one of the music directors to watch. Seems like VS is the only dependable music director for melodies.
