  Pls visit http://www.orientalrecords.com/ Goto for ilayaraja -> tamil section. Look for Gurushishyan/PudhuPaattu/ThalattupPaadavaa collection. Its a great collection and it has the great 'His le betish' song that you are looking for.

  Azhiyaada KOlangal is by Salil Chaudhry and not IR.
  
  Rex, Suresh, Balaji, Shibu, Suji, Ramaswamy and others,
  
  What do you think of the request being sent out by Rajangahm.com that you all stop hosting full songs on your sites and retain only small samples, which will make people buy albums on CD?
  
  IMO, rare collections such as those you are presenting on your sites are definitely not going to be available in the market for anyone to buy (unless of course Raja himself brings them out in digitally remastered new releases).
  
  I can understand the point in the hosting of MP3 songs of new albums. But can the availability of Real Audio files on the Net in anyway affect cassette/CD sale? May be I am missing a point here?
  One can compare this with the 'so-called' threat of Radio on album sales. Songs being aired on Radio are sometimes 'recorded', aren't they?
  What are your thoughts on this?

  when people send out request to companies like echo which hold rights for these songs, they will obviously reintroduce such classics in to the market. that's what our intent is. it's our conviction and strong belief that if a rex or a shibu or a suresh could get hold of such classics and rare hits, it should not be difficult for others to do the same. the only thing required is, fans who look for such songs should write to the companies that hold rights to these songs asking them about these songs. once these companies get a few request they will obviously start producing them and selling them. (you would be surprised how small a number they require.) so please write to such comapnies and ask them. and please DEMAND HIGHEST QUALITY. as a start, here is http://www.orientalrecords.com . good luck.

  i forgot to add: yes. the availability of real audio files on the net has resulted in the drop in sales of CDs. not everybody looks for "quality sound". we have statistics on this and we are facing problems because of this (the nature of the problem i am not in a position to reveal now).

  especially, I think the CDs for the foll albums are hard to get or not yet available.

  and many others. especially IRs albums in the late seventies and early 80s.

  The reason why people like me dont buy pre-recorded CDs is because the song selection is pretty bad. why should i waste money in listening to some crappy songs, when I can record what I want on CDs? I can't force myself to buy inferior products, can I?
  
  there is a CD called melodies of raaja and they have pothuvaaga en manasu thangam. How do u expect peopel to buy those CDs?
  
  The companies themselves should take orders for customised CDs and this way they would get their money and also leave the customers satisfied. till then no one is going to waste money on their pre-recorded CDs.

  instead of writing here, please make an attempt and get a group and ask everyone to write to orientalrecords and every other company asking them to release the combos you want. i am positive the result would be fruitful. unless the consumers don't demand quality they won't get it.
