Dear Fans, as you know Padmashree Dr.SPB is greater than or equal to M.rafi in all aspects, but SPB's voice has lot more bass,manly voice & very deeper voice than any other singers in IMF, the rest of discussion is left for SPB fans

I totally agree with you in this matter, SPB is greater than M.rafi in all aspect, even though M.rafi was SPB's idol & inspiration, he is a step(just one) down the ladder to SPB,
SPB is the sikaram!!!

Comparing two people belonging to the same field of interest is always someone's very personal opinion. That might be influenced by the geography, personal prejudice etc..
with that being said, I would say SPB exhibits enormous talent and abundant energy in his songs.
I'm hopeless in love with the way he renders...
"en Veetu thottathil" = in Gentleman
"Unnai paartha pinbhu thaan " -in Kadhal mannan.
I would go on in length. but want to stop here...

I am happy to note that you and your "Brother" (who also posted from "webcacheh04a.cache.pol.co.uk") agree on the fact that "Padmashree Dr.SPB is greater than or equal to M. Rafi in all aspects".
It is often difficult to find brothers who agree on anything:-))

Hello all;
SPB's voice is the best, in IMF, it is so deepp, extreme bass & manly,SPB is well known for modulation, extremly talented at expressing emotions (sad,joy,passion,anger,devtion,......),eg:
song in "naan adimai illai (rajnai, Sridevi)", the song when SPB sings like drunken rajni, "oru jeevan than un padal than", is brilliant, he talks between the phrases, his voice is excellent when he talks as well, where else KJY,Mrafi voice do not sound good when they talk!!!,
Long live SPB

Sri Balasubrahmanyam … is an accomplished, addictive singer that has stolen the hearts of Telugus worldwide and Indians in most parts of the world…. Balu is not only an accomplished singer but a multi talented artist who has proven his talents in many Telugu Movies….Balu is blessed with the most appealing voice that I know.
By Singer Mano;
Some are born for creating records and some for breaking them. Balu is the one born for both of them.” He gives life to the lyrics and heart & soul to the music. He is a true role model for any aspiring singer. He is an art that cannot be imitated and a song that cannot be duplicated. Then is it a wonder, for millions, to be like him is a dream come true?
By MD K.V.Mahadevan
A sizeable credit for the National Award given to me by the Government of India for the "BEST MUSIC DIRECTOR" for the film "SANKARABHARANAM" goes to Balu….Of course the rendition of the songs by him contributed tremendously to the success of the movie. It was, in my opinion, equal to, if not better than, the best efforts from a specialist in classical songs. Today he has truly established himself as one of the few singers of quality in all the South Indian languages, including Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi.
Though he is known to come late for the recording, he more than compensates for the delay by ensuring that all the songs are rendered to perfection in the first try itself. For all his popularity, he is very humble and very friendly with all members of the orchestra. He also provides a number of useful suggestions to improve the music for his songs…
In his humbleness, magnanimity, and love for music, he has no equal today. His golden voice is the one and only in the industry.

What I can say about a highly multi talented, most brilliant singer in many languages a very successful dubbing artiste, music director, a natural actor-SPB
As a singer he ably, rightly and well-deservedly succeeded the stalwarts like Mohd. Rafi, Ghantasala and Kishore Kumar whose enchanting voices had a lasting spell on the minds of cine music lovers for a long period and whose charm still continue and their Melody echoes in the ears of everybody.
His quick and easy grasp of a tune of any kind is a very rare gift and an enviable boon that rightly and necessarily compelled him to render the highest number of songs…which is a unique record and a great feat…
He is also a good speaker and a capable compeer at Cine and other functions. He has a Devil's energy charged and recharged with divine grace from time to time to work hard for a very long hours in a day continuously for years together untiringly.
His achievements are out-standing and phenomenal. Above all, of course, the time also has been splendid and favourable to him as constant faithful friend opening many a good opportunities thus he is very lucky and great as he is today. He is a miracle in the singing world, and it is no exaggeration that he is an adult prodigy.
By the great singer M.rafi
Well, what can I say about Balu, this guy is blessed with the most richest, divinest voice, although he is from a non-music (classical) background , he is truly outstanding when comes to proper carnatic or Hindustani , now that’s nothing but gift from the all mighty god!. He is even better than most of the proper trained carnatic singers.
Balu’s trademarks such as his laugh, cry, expressing emotions , modulation, excellent bass, punch, last but not least his amazing voice, makes him the ultimate.
He says that I am his role model & how much he admires me, but I admire him more than he thinks, he is of course my favourite singer.
All of the above articles were found on a web pages / magazines.

Sorry for digression:
Asha Bhosle gets Dadasaheb phalke award. Lata gets Bharat ratna. SPB so far gets only padmashree. Where in this world is recognition to SPB? Why so limited recognition to south artists for these awards?
Just a little doubt.

NCR (@ 12.87.65.137) ;
Hello
I thought Padmashree award is the highest award of it's kind, SPB & KJY are the only singers in India to recieve 7 national awards, by the way, it is very sad to this genius, SPB recieve the padmashree award in 2001, I mean he has been singing for nearly 35 years, but he only he recieves it in 2001, your are right NCR, although South indian artists are more talented than their north counter parts, they are not recognised especially like SPB, IR, but soe how ARR manged to break this barrier, well done ARR!

South Indian artists are not more talented than their North Indian counterparts. They are all equally talented whether from the North or the South. In fact, many North artists are more talented than South artists and the case is also vice-verca. The fact that many North Indians have received awards is due to their talent alone. Lata deserves the Bharat Ratna just as Asha deserves the Dadasaheb Phalke award. So please don't say such foolish statements because it shows biased and ignorance. Also, I don't agree with ARR getting the PadmaShri after only 8 years and SPB after 30 + years. But that is another matter in itself.

Padma shri is the lowest of all national awards. The sequence (ascending) is, Padma shri, Padma bhushan, Padma vibhushan and the top-most, Bharatha ratna.
National film awards are a completely different category. Dadasaheb Phalke award belongs to this group and is given to a person for outstanding, lifetime acheivements in the film field.
BTW, KJY won the national award 7 times, and SPB won it 6 times (so far).
