Chinna Thirai Songs

Hi! Guys. I'm Priya. We are taling about tamil film music. But what about chinna thirai songs. If u see Sun T.V. you will come to know that most chinna thirai songs are very melodious. For example Punngai, Amma, Krishna Dasi, etc... What do you say?

  I do not mean that, Omega. There are many talented music directors in chinna thirai. There music is very nice. Just imagine what will happen if they come to cinema feild to compose music. Will they succeed if they compose music in tamil film songs? Just discuss that. If you have heard any chinna thirai songs, just discuss this topic.
  
  Even A.R. Rehman was composing music for advertisements. Today he is a famous music director. What do u think about chinna thirai music directors? Will they come like A.R. Rehman?

  An important difference between TV musicians and movie MDs is the recording quality. TV musicians originally were not able to afford the fancy recording studios. So the bad quality of recording to some extent hampered their work i.e. it could not be easily compared with film songs (this now happens even between movie MDs :( ). Anyways, with the advent of digital technology and Digital Audio Workstations I think TV musicians will be able to afford good recording and hopefully we can easily compare them with film MDs. When this happens there will be enough number of music directors to go around and hopefully we will have distinct styles evolving and probably the concept of bands will pick up.

  I think this is a nice topic to discuss too. When
  we can discuss about film MD and film music, why
  cant we discuss about its smaller cousin?
  Especially since MDs like YSR and Dina give some
  very good results even in the small screen.
  
  My favourite in the small screen is -
  
  * A couple of songs from Uravugal (the one where
  spb charan is the hero)
  
  * Maayavetai (title song)
  
  * Krishnadaasi (title song)
  
  * The serial with the song which starts 'sangumariyoo..'
  
  I wonder if there is any cassette which puts all
  these nice songs together...

  There is Krishna Dasi and Manthira vasal song casette. It will only be sold in Madras. I think so. Just check if there are any of your relatives living there ask them to buy one for you.

  I like two chinna thirai songs very much. The first one is sung by SPB, lyrics by Kaviarasu Vairamuthu " Pudumai Penney Pudumaipenney". The lyrics are appealing and practical. The lines "Avamaanangal illamal Vegumaanangal kidayadhu,
  Moochuppidikka mudiyamal muthukkulikka mudiyathu" makes us think. Chandrabose has scored the music and the orchestration is good.
  
  The next one is telecast in Raj TV in the mornings around 7am and the serial is about Melmaruvathoor Amma. The title song sung by Dr.Sivachidambaram whose missed utility in tfm is discussed in threads of this page. The lyrics by a professor is good and Pallavi Prakash has tuned it excellentrly. This song is divine and pleasent to listen in the mornings.
