Remember the Music Director trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the music directors of Kamal Hassan's Alavandhaan. They seem to be missing in the Tamil scene for the last 2 years and they are doing really good in the Hindi field. They have given solid musical hits in Hindi such as; Mission Kashmir, Dil Chahtha Hai. I think they can be brought to the Tamil films again. I feel they are definitely better than Deva and a few others. I think they are the best as far as Hindi Film Music goes after A R Rahman.
I would like healthy comments who listen to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and have a fair knowledge of Hindi Film Industry.

Dear Ehsaan,
The background score when Hritik and team do the rock climbing was superb! How does one get to hear it again? The CD does not have it.

Hi Eshaan ,
Watched Lakshya .. Great work by SEL.. I think fromt he way your music score started in the titles I could sense that it was going to be one helluva ride...
Overall i am very much impressed... but i am forced to ask you these questions...
1. Every war movie comes up with a song about winning.. letters from the dearest...etc .. I felt that even you couldnt come out of the cliche ... I dont mean to say its rong to have one.. but you could have attempted something different . It like even the lyrics were cliched to the core.
2. I was expecting to see a more vibrant background score in scenes invloving 'Directionless' Hrithic and more serious note on the 'Army' Hrithic ... there was no distinguishing element in music ..
3. The thing that pricked me most was the absence of silence in the war sequences. IMO silence just instills lot of anticiaption .. most of the war sequences were loud... I dont know if that was a collective decision
These are my hues and cries.. Its all in my humble opinion.. The songs were very apy for the movie...it just grows on you... congrats on ur effort

hi truth thanks for the comments. well we have to do what the director says if he wanted the song we had to do it.well directionelss hrithik had an underplayed score which was like a rap kind of tune which begins while he is driving donw raj path. it was best underplayed.if u step into a battlefield i guarantee u that it will be at least a 100 times louder than what it was on screen. silence in a battle ??????

Ehsaan, how do you guys go about doing the re-recording for a movie? Do you watch the movie together and compose on the spot or view it several times, discuss it out and then go about composing? What is the modus operandi and how long on an average does it take to compose the background score for the entire movie? Just curious.

Bollywood's only musician trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy want their friends and fans to be with them in every step of the way. And what better way than to get in touch with them through a website. So the musicians have launched their personal website at www.shankarehsaanloy.com. The website gives a brief profile of each of the three musicians with their complete filmography as musicians and also has a forum where one can exchange and express views about the composers.Reigning high on the success of their musical compositions for films like Kal Ho Naa Ho, Lakshya, Kyun Ho Gaya Na, Kuch Naa Kaho, Armaan, Rudraksh and Dil Chahta Hai to name a few, the website would only increase the fan-following of the musician trio.In the recent past, musicians Salim-Sulaiman and actor Anil Kapoor too had come up with their personal websites.

The song "Pyar Mein Sau Uljhanein Hai" has sort of a classic feel to it. I can imagine Kishore Kumar singing the song. Is this what you were going for? Did the director have any instruction to do that kind of a song?

Maybe the trio are not on the same level as Rehman. But boy-o-boy. S-E-L have just made it interesting for Rehman. I am sure Rehman is watching them.

hi guys thanks for all the comments but please this is not a race between ARR and us we know him very well he is a wonderful humna being and we are big fans of all his music ............... wether the music is a hit or a flop doesnt mean that the music is bad we have had our flops too !!!

fantastic response Ehsaan....hey keep off the fans who just go gaga over you..the same fans will pelt stones on you even for once you do not performs..such volatile are their loyalty...
Nice to see your matured response...I 've been following you three for long and I know hope you respect ARR. ARR too has publically spoken high of you guys...infact he acknowledged KHNO as the block buster for the year in front for his crowd..such is his humility and one really has to be sitting so high to attain that mentality...Hey you three are on the way up man...
The other day was watching the song of Ais and Vivek from one of your recent releases...That is what you call being different...I know what sort of tune other MD's will churn out for this traditional hindi situation..Boy Girl ched chaad...But you guys are different...Same goes with the Lakshya song..."milte hain kadme"...I can imagine the kind of song and dholaks other MDs will use for that situation..SEL---you are different and have proved that with original work you can be on top always....
Keep climbing great heights...hope to see ARR +SEL...an all four project....he..he..is it possible.?
