Read the review of "The Legend of Baghat Singh" from www.indiafm.com
"A.R. Rahman's music gels well with the mood of the film. The film has a couple of hummable tunes – 'Mera Rang De' and 'Pagdi Sambhal Jatta' – are the pick of the lot. The background music meets international standards of quality."
Last line is Underlined!

but i cud not see any underlines for the last line :-)
hmm...gels with the mood, but still "couple of hummable tunes" only. guess ARR is being branded as good-at-BGM(only) by HFM critics.

Kuppu uncle,
i think ur negative comment is itself a positive one as most TFM IR's kids think ARR is no good in BGM.
Besides indiafm is claimed to be picky with their reviews.. so its a good one!

I am sure ARRs BGM will be good...as usual. But what are "international standards of quality" w.r.t. BGM. Is it some kind of ISO certification? :-)

1. Pray tell me what has this got to do with TFM?
2. ARR will seem the best when you can't see beyond your nose.
3. When it comes to weirdness HCIRFs take the cake.
4. The only scrap here is SP Mahendran.
(Please see your friendly scrap man at Jalan Klang Lama, if in KL or Rope Walk, if in Penang.)

Rahman, who is he? He is almost out of market in his own place, TN. Now TN music completely dominated by many nusic directors. In Hindi, his latest masala Nayak, payinthae, poyae pochchu.Bombay Dreams - still it is a dream only. Reviews showed it is below average. Rahman Bhai, wallayi work hard with new trend.

No IR, No ARR, NO YSR, No Bharatwaj No Vidyasagar. But whoever produces good music makes the wave. Oh Podu - is like an national anthem in TN. Thulluvatho Ilamai songs are really excellent. IR is as usual at his best in Ivan. No sleep ROTFL, but you will understand the fact I have mentioned, if you look my points open-heartedly. If you have something in ur mind and tried to match with my points, then you will criticize me worser than this. But one thing u accept it or not, ARR is no-where a wanted person. Let us wish BABA can save some of his pending prides.

Before O-podu, it was Malai malai malai. I agree that these were sensations, but that does not mean that ARR does not rule any more. He is still the highest paid MD, the most sought MD and the most prestigious MD.
Nothing that is going to be discussed in these pages is going to change that.
In the meantime, continue praying. Yaar kandaar, aanadavan ungalukku karunai kaattalaam. :)

>>ARR is no-where a wanted person<<
In tamil and hindi films, especially in all big banners. and in London. And in a few Hollywood projects. not at all in Bharath-Bala productions. And no, he doesnt know the spelling of patriotism. Not even in the Mani Ratnam camp.
I dont know why ARR is still alive when he's neglected by so many ppl.
kashtagaalam.

Yes, I too agree your points. But only one thing is - all your mentioned about ARRs domination and market, it was a history. Baba audio right sales is much less than Padayappa. The big banners, who used him, AVM & GV, now trying with new music director. KB had a bitter experience in his PP and now KR is doing for the movie ALBUM produced by KB's Kavithalaya. GV is trying hard to take the sign from IR and VM for his next movie. Kamal, after his Tenali, using Deva and Shankar & Co for his upcoming movies. Subash Ghai is producing a movie without ARR. What all these things show? Is ARR that much busy? Then how he got time for Baba, Nayak, Boys and Bhagat Singh movie? ARR style is used by many people. Becuase for his style, no need for big musical knowledge. But u should be a good sound engineer to produce excellent quality of music. Many youngsters are using his style (Harris J, YSR etc) and giving big hits. In his last 3 or 4 movies in Tamil, he didn't create any waves like he did in Bombay and Roja. Now ARR is almost a history and I really wish him to come with some different style and take his old position, which is shared by many people now. Insah Allah! He can do and He will do.( if he thinks different)
