  hello,because of the Audio of BABA,the word BABA is still in the air,i mean the movie wise...Baba song is good, Baba song is the strength,this is what u can hear,not " Because of the song the movie flopped",unless its from HJ fan like u!!

  You mean to say Rajini is nothing and ARR is everything by quoting Baba name is still remembered because of ARR. ARR's get Rs. 1 -3 crores for every movie and audio sales break even. When the movie gets released there is no nativity between the songs and picturization and its bombs big time like

  Surya movies used to be successful banner but now

  btw...this Sekar seems to have some special powers...something like 'gnana dhrishti'....otherwise he wouldnt view "Page Cannot Be Found" messages as "ARR is the MD" and "Deva is the MD"....Matrix Neo maathiri ellathayum avarey decode pannara periya thillalangadi pola irukku!...engalai poi manusha jenmangalukku puriyara edhaavathu website kodukkalaam-la?..chi, romba mosam!

  Ashwathama,U20E18 songs & Boys songs r a SUPER HIT album,which broke the audio sales for past 2 years (since HJ came in TFM)Boys movie & E20U18 is still beeing talked is because of the MUSIC!

  Shankar's craps - Kadhalan, Jeans and Boys became a hit mainly due to Rahman's songs with some support from graphics and the normal Shankar stuff
  Kadhalar Dhinam and Kadhal Desam were decent beacuse of Rahman.
  Other gems(songwise) like Thiruda Thiruda, En Swaasa Kaatre, Sangamam, May Maadham etc were too bad to get any support.

  You all trying to evade one fact. The sales of Boys and E20U18 is not par to ARRs efforts in 1990s. The audio sales helped the producer to breakeven the salary paid to ARR. The movies ur taking about like Thiruda Thiruda, En Swaasa Kaatre, Sangamam, May Maadham were big time flops. Dinesh, probably ur talking about urself the only one in the theatre for ARR songs!!!!! :)

  Aswathama, open ur eyes man! U just refuse to accept facts!
  There was no factor called piracy or MP3 in the early 90s.. that contributed automatically to the mindboggling sales figures. But with Mp3s rooling the roost, if Boys and E20U18 actually sold over 6 lakh units (each!), then the music is surely something to contend with. Boys is said to have brought cassette sales back to life.. and jus when everyone was saying Boys is gonna hold the record for units sold in the last few years, Rahman topped it w/ another album (E20U18). Admit it.. Boys had music that was in a different plane altogether.
  Thiruda Thiruda, En Swaasa Kaatre, Sangamam, May Maadham were flops alright.. but if they ran for a few days it's sheerly due to the music.
