Aasaya Kathuley Thoothu vitten SPSailaja in Jhonny was copied 100% by AM in a Hindi film. Dhak Dhak interludes were sloppy, but i belve the song was a major hit in Hindi, almost a cult song, is that true?

!!!, Dhak Dhak wasn't just a cult song in Hindi. With Madhuri Dixit doing all kinds of things, it was also a cu%t song. Couldn't resist that one :)

Rajesh, the song Konda cheval koovum was by Shankar Ganesh. Anand Milind must be something to steal from Shankar Ganesh!

Babu moshai, there is no such thing as a "popular Anand-Milind composition". At best, it can be a "popular Anand-Milind remix". And you should really be afraid to say what you did because you have just made a complete fool of yourself.

I agree the songs of QSQT were good and I too grew up liking them. But after this film , when your favourite MDs Anand Milind(AM) blatantly copied so many songs from these South MDs, especially Ilayaraja, you need to rethink on your favourites.
you are free to enjoy the songs surely, but if u just remember it is not by AM, but by Ilayaraja, thats more than enough. And give a thought on who is making you enjoy the song, Ilayaraja (original composer) or these copycats AM.

>>>I AM AFRAID TO SAY THAT SOUTH COMPOSERS LACKS THE WEIGHT IN THEIR MUSIC<<<
I AM AFRAID TO SAY AYAN GANGULY IS JUST ANOTHER OF THOSE NORTHIES WHO THINK HINDI MUSIC BY COPYCATS LIKE ANAND MILIND ARE THE ULTIMATE. IF ILAYARAJA HAD COMPOSED MORE NO. OF HINDI SONGS, AND WE PRESENT A CASSETTE OF HIS TO GANGULY, WITHOUT THE NAME ILAYARAJA, I AM SURE HE WILL LIKE IT, AND THINK THAT THE COMPOSER IS HIS FAVOURITE ANAND MILIND.
GROW UP BABU MOSHAI...ATLEAST LEARN TO APPRECIATE GOOD & ORIGINAL MUSIC, NOT COPIED ONES.

- From: karthik (@ )

C'mon guys, everybody copy right from RDB(Has converted loads of Bngali folksy tunes to Hindi Numbers)and so has A-new Malik who copies from all possible sources.
AM I do agree did use IR's tunes to a large extent, but then they do have loads of talent in them as is audible in the soft romantic numbers of Jooth Bole Kauwa Kaate(Aankho Mein and DIl ye Dil)and some unbelievable stuff in Daayra(Bolo Kya Tum),Mrityudand etc
So whatz the big fuss abt?The criticism seems a tad to harsh.if u do lash out at them, then let the same principle apply for all others also.
BTW even IR's tunes seem to be heavily inspired by Mozarts. What say now?

Karthik,
Inspiration is different from Blatant plagiarism. Guys like Anu Malik & Anand-Milind duo lift bluntly rather than compose originally. Yes, for a change they do original work...not to discount that. But please dont even think of comparing IR's inspiration from Mozart and the attempt from these guys to plagiarize. Both are miles apart.

My point is guys like Anu and Jatin Lalit copy/plagiarize from Western music etc and it remains unnoticed .In fact one of J-L's biggest hit(main koi aisa geet from Yess Boss) is a blatant lift from a Western number.
Had the very same thing been done by A&M off late from an IR number, this website would have been overflowing with hate mail. Just bcos somebody copies from down south rather than the west, let us not whip them to this extent.

What about the older times? Is it only a recent
phenomenon that HFM copies from TFM? Can someone
help with identifying the South-->North
inspirations of the yester-era?
eg: in SDB/SJ/RDB/LP's tunes, do we ever see
any copying from MSV/V-R/KVM's work?
I had started another thread on this (Reverse
Influence) to which no one replied. :-(

Who composed the Tamil original "Muthu KuLikka VareegaLaa?", which was butchered and used in Comedian Mahmood in Hindi (which I think starred Manorama)? Andwho was the Hindi (de)composer? Was it RDBurman?
Also, which Telugu song were the lines "Ramayya Vastavayya" from Raj Kapoor's film taken from?
