Is ARR leaving India is beneficial for IR?

Now song cassettes of IR is selling fast and in large volumes. Is it because ARR left the scene? For sure, BABA's cassette sale cannot be beaten by any record. But on the average, is it IR who is going to benefit?

  Once (and if) he qualifies, then he has to content with the next rank, i.e. Deva and Kartik Raja.

  Talk about stupidity. Why would ARR leave the scene in the first place? It is not like ARR is a race horse to bet on. What kind of a theory is that? Its like saying Tendulkar scored a century because Ganguly and Sehwag left the ground early.

  I think AR is leaving the scene because there is no one to challenge him here. IR's songs cassettes are not selling more than VS,HJ,SAR,BW or Deva. It could be true that his recent songs cassettes are selling more than his old ones. IR only scores music to make others look too good.

  ARR has no creativity. He keeps on repeating the same tunes. He has copied as much as he could all over the world. He couldn't do it anymore. ARR will polish the shoes of Eminem group members.   If you dig in deep you will find 90% of ARR tunes are IR's tune. Don't say ARR was deaf from late 1970s to early 1990s. If at all there was any tamil song he had to listen to, that was IR's music during that period. He must have grown up listening to Tamil Songs. IR had great influence on ARR which he publicly refused to agree as he might antagonize people like VM and MR. Now he can agree that IR was a great influence as he is on his own. Half credit go to IR. Half credit go to computer. As keyboard has it own range of tunes which if you mix and match you will come out with wonderful tunes. Ask ARR if he can come out with a tune with just an harmonium. He will suddenly look like a lost child. Only people who do not know the difference between illusion and reality will call ARR a MD.

  Uthaman, your deep understanding of ARR's music reveals your very deep understanding of IR's music too. ARR should have been criticized when he copied 'chinna chinna Asai' from IR's 'sOLam vethakkayilE' and 'narumugayE' from 'pOdA pOdA puNNAkku'.   This is one awful music by an MD can come up with.
  Shakalaka baby in English!! Ooh lala in English! Rangeela in English!! God saves Indian music. It is pathetic on the part of Andrew Webber to choose ARR as his MD. I couldn't stand his music. There is no grace no elegance. 'Monsoon Wedding' audio CD was in the top 5 selling Album all over US. Even though i find it amusing because all it had was traditional hindi songs. Even in the movie
  "Ghost World" they have one Mohd. Rafi song which has become so popular in U.S. In the movie Moulin Rogue 'Chamma Chamma' became a hit in U.S. It is just when they get the taste of our music they feel different. Just like our own Indians appreciate pop and R&B songs. But ARR sucks big time since he has not done anything but copied his own tunes from Hindi and translated into English. I find the music Pathetic. American women like movies that end in "wedding" and "dreams". That's why they have some name like 'Bombay Dreams'. I am sure it is a flop.
  If you want to talk about composing watch ' A Beautiful Mind '. That is one hell of a composing. Don't come up with stupid arguments like James Horner has not scored songs like 'Ooh lala' or 'Shakalaka baby' . Those songs were totally unnecessary for the movies. A composer ability is judged on his background music. Most of the young pop singers like Shakira, Nelly furtado, Jewel, Vaness Carlton compose their own songs. They sell millions of copies. That won't make them better than music geniuses like John Williams, James Horner. ARR is good in scoring music for advertisment.
