THEY CHANGED THIS SONG lol.when they got released member the song with the females singing and lots of english tongue twisters?the sing a long song.he added in sum different instruments and added a male voice in HARIHARAN.also took out many of the english lyrics. I dunno if itll be this version or the old version in tamil.ALso there is sum rap added in now and sum great tabla work that alternate. This song is AWESOME now compared to before.
6)Spiderman

The beginning sounds alil different but it might be due to the bad quality. meh i wasnt ever realli fond of this song it grows on u sorta but prolli at the bottom of the list in comparison to the other things offered.
7) Markandeya

dunno wat to say i think this is the remix song i dunno.kinda arabic feel to it.If this isnt the remix one then therell be an extra number in the tamil version.this one will take a few listenings to get full judgement

the remix was funny! I cudnt help but imagine MGR in it! :)

first impression...sounds like the music was made for telugu lyrics and then translated to tamil....just a guess!!...
Amma song especially sounds little complicated on the lyrics side...so does spiderman song...
Songs are ok on the first hearing...may need time to grow on to me...

Isaiyin Isayil NEW! This is how S.J.Surya's NEW had publicised the audio. For the those of you, a select few, who are still wondering, he is talking about A.R.Rahman ofcourse! :) The cassettes are priced at Rs.45 and Surya himself has taken care of the distribution. Not that he would give you a free home delivery in person, but "distribution", in the right sense! The cassette cover looks rather clumsy on the inside with some rather stupid foldings! :) There are actually two different cassettes, as in the covers are different. One has Surya and Simran with coolers, in a brown background. The other one is with Surya and Simran "kissing". Closer observations revealed that he was kissing her chin! :) I, obviously, got hold of the former since it looks cooler! :) No lyrics sheet attached. Just a still from some song.
Let me put down the songs in the order in which I like them...
1) New
This is the theme song, the one which you see in the trailers. Sung by Karthik and others. Rap in this song too and that's been handled by Blaaze. I just love the way this song starts off. The music before Karthik starts singing his part is just mesmerising. Cool and funky - these are the right terms I guess. The interludes are awesome too and so is the tune. Just everything is soo right about this song! Karthik is just lucky! I mean, he always gets the best song in a Rahman album. Taking no credit away from him, just that everything he sings qualify as chartbusters.
2) Amma
Actually, this one should be my favorite in this album. Just that the other one has an instant appeal and has found a place up in the order. The entire song is just soul stirring. I doubt if there would be a better melody this year. Unnikrishnan has done complete justice to this song. Nice to have Unnikrishnan back with Rahman. Sadhna sounds a bit squeaky, but it's not something that is so apparent enought to hamper the melody. Afterall she just gets a small part of the song. It's been a long time since I heard such a melody. In my opinion, this is better than any song is KKS. Such a nice song!! I may sound as though I am doing an election campaign for Rahman, but this just gets me too excited!!
One thing, which I have mentioned n times earlier and don't mind mentioning it for the (n+1)th time - A small kid saying Amma, when the song takes off. Solitary aanandha kanner! :)
3) Thottal Poo Malarum
For the first time, I was annoyed with Rahman. Absolutely angered that he had spoilt such a classic. But now that I've put it at number 3, it's not that hard for you to guess the impact it had! :) There's no other Rahman song for which I've changed my opinion this fast! I hated it in my first listening and loved it in my second! :) Though the original version is still unparallelled, this is just a novel effort which I feel would be appreciated. Old stuff reproduced in a nice and sweet manner. Mridingam in the beginning gives a nice new feel to the song and the way Hariharan starts off with "Thottal Poo Malarum" is especially catchy. The song progresses well with some funky interludes. There is nothing so special to mention in this song. Just that the song is special by itself! :) And yeah, something that still continues to annoy me in the song - Harini's voice! I've never been her fan for sings as though she has an inbuilt fan! Romba kaaththu varudhu pa, regulator poattu control pannanum!
4) Spiderman
Creepy song! A new effort in NEW! Light beats here and there, melodious and innovative singing are the plus points of this song. Kunal has done a good job in this song I feel. The song actually perfectly has this feel which you get when you think of spiders! I can feel what Spider sense is. Edho oru maadhiri irukku, dunno what! :) Once again, the interludes are worth the mention. Nice song.
5) Sakkaraye
SPB is back! Maybe not with a bang, but he is just back with Rahman in this album! :) This is a decent song which I feel would grow on people later. But I just decided to go ahead with the review without listening to it further coz listening to an album thrice would give me the best idea about it - unbiased. Though there is always this thing with Rahman that you find new sounds with each listening, that's a never ending process! :) The lyrics in this song are a bit ..err.. in this song, but then it all depends on your perception! ;) Maybe it just suits the situation, you never know! Special mentions..mm...nuthing I found so far other than the lovely singing by SPB and Sujatha. Just a song based on the rules of how it should be with a few deviations here and there!
Things end here! There is a clear demarcation at this point! 4 amazing songs followed by 3 songs which I feel are just ordinary.

6) If you wanna come along
The first thing that I hate about this song - the lyrics!! I don't know what they had in mind, but the Telugu version seems to be far better. Had a better flow and thus a better impact! I mean what is this "Vaa endral Vanakkam, Poo endral manakkum"?!! I just find it pathetic! Though I don't associate that much of an importance to lyrics, this was just too absurd for me to not get disturbed! The song is decent otherwise. Though there is not much of a fresh feel to it, it is not something that would be hated. I would just prefer to call this a messed up song. I don't think this would grow on me coz I've heard the Telugu version a million times! And that with "Rangeli Tarangam" was kinda tolerable! :)
7) Kumbakkonam
There's always a first time for everything! First Nithyashree-ARR combo that did not impress me that much! I really have nothing much to add about this song! In the 3rd listening I found the starting part good! :) So, I just doubt if I would like it. Doesn't look like Rahman at all to me! :)
Overall, as usual, a very good album. Perhaps not near the classy Aaytha Ezhuththu. The interludes are something which I liked very much in this album. They have this funky robotic feel to it! Would be apt for Anniyan! :)
Verdict : NEW...shining like a diamond pearl!! :)
