  Yes, I asked him why he doesn't go to London and do a concert. He said he has his greatest disciple there, Raghu, who sings just like him and keeps the people happy. So there is no job for the original SPB there.

  Raghu, regarding the Andhi Mazhai thing, it was indeed TV Gopalakrishnan, i have the cassette sleeve, and its also been mentioned in Lakshminarayan's articles on classical Ilaiyaraja.
  
  Grrrrrrr...reached Atlanta just one saturday too late, else I would witnessed 2 SPB concerts in 2 continents within 2 weeks :)

  Hi Raghu,
  Sorry I didn't visit this site for a long time.
  Yes you can record by plugging a mike into your computer's input and recording as a .wav file (using Windows built in Sound Recorder). But remember it takes a lot of hard disk space to do that. So after that you may want to compress the file into .mp3 for posting on the web or emailing to me.

  Have you listened to the compositions by Vijayabhaskar (and others), sung by SPB?
  Here are some duets of SPB that are evergreen:
  
  Malai Malar Pandhalitta Megham
  Mudhal Mudhal Varum Sugam Edhuvena
  Idho Un Kadhali Kannmani
  Mamadhurai Naatinil Vaigaikarai Kaatrinil
  Mannika Maamani Maalaiyil
  Medaiyil Aadidum Melliya Poongaatre
  Aagayam Thaane Azhagana Koorai
  Iaigal Meedhum Malargal Meedhum Panivizhum Kaalam...
  
  I could go on. When you listen to these you will discover the difference between the SPB of the 70s/early80s - and thereafter. Most of the songs I have listed emphasise singing excellence, without intrusive and excessive orchestration.

  another awsome SPb song that comes into my mind is 'Aagaya mehangazh azhuhindrana, athil vantha kaNneeril..' I think it was by SPB+SJ, do u know which movie that was from??
