A.R. Rahman and Vairamuthu win National Award for Kannathil Muthamittaal

  somehow or rather i noe tat tat person won't be able to resist my strong posts for long. :)
  
  
  anyway, KM winning any award now doesn't make a difference to people's impression on KM, Baba, Parasuram, BD, ARR, etc. etc.
  good music always stay in ppl's heart and bad ones fade away fast. awards make no difference to no one except for the childish few who go around suddenly touting it as good music when previoulsy it wasn't even in their own top 10.

  ...who cares bout that!! come on man...just admit...since 1988 IR has NEVER, i mean NEVER received any National Award till now...why??
  because he's keeps producing the same crap for years...same beat..same dholak...same singers..most of the songs sung by IR!! oh my god!!
  
  even this year...tell me one song of IR which is memorable? just give me one...well, i don't think there any...
  
  ....i feel that KM is a much much better album that those silly IR recent composition...
  
  i'm not downgrading IR..but he has lost his midas touch long ago...he should just stop making film music...its better for him to compose own albums..WAIT WAIT...dont start bashing again..i know he doing "MOODS OF ILAIYARAJA"...but what happened to the album progress?? no news bout it.....
  
  he should also give more opportunity to Karhik Raja...instead of grabbing all the movies offered to him AND giving bad score...KR is much much talented that YSR..i donno wat crap he's composing..just spoiling his father's name...
  KR has done some masterpiece score...including Ullasam & GRAHAN (hindi) - even till now i listen to GRAHAN..
  
  so my point is...ARR still has it...IR has lost it long ago...KR should be offered more movies..YSR should stop copying blatantly, eg:

  And IR has the midas touch.

  BeN, I think maybe you should take a listen to KR's work and the comment whether he is better than YSR. So many people can't be wrong when they choose YSR over KR. KR lifts more than anybody. What has YSR lifted in KK?The interlude to Nenjodu is from the corrs, but the songs after that is completely. Stop talking shite and clean your ears man.

  ARR has tied Shabana Azmi in no. of national awards and is just nehind Mammoty and vairamuthu and countless bengali directors.... see history will see a Tamil MD in this prestigious list... also credit shud go to ManiRatnam who arrested the attn. of panelists with his string of sensible-commercial Tamil movies.... let's pray for his speedy recovery......

  Congrats my BOY..ARR . I am really proud of you. I still remember you wearing a stripped back shirt and playing keyboard in my son's rec. theatre. Accept this blessings from this old man.
  
  Now we can proudly say that, we have two MDs in our land who have till now 7 awards with them. Does any state other than TN can clain this?
  
  I love my son, but I hate his fans who spoil and don't appriciate others. Its the same attitute that my son still has. But one thing, a NA for m son is just round the corner. May be the next kamal's film can make it. I heard one son from that and its fabulous and will surely catch attention of those sitting on the free chair.
  
  But I also heard from people in music industry that ARR's meenakshi with MFH has some nice numbers. I just wish that even next time let this award be bestowed to TN only.

  enda, why don't you ban this ambleen? I read from past postings that he has used unconstitutional words such as paray*an(no point in blocking this word..block that idiot's IP), which will definitely hurt caste feelings.
  This is wrong, either warn him to mend his ways or ban him. Your reputation is at stake.

  Congrats to ARR & Vairamuthu ! hope the recent 'boys' hit and this award would boost ARR's morale in tfm and brings his form back !
  
  imo, KM is one great album from ARR...and 'vellai pookal' is one of his superb work, a fantastic piece with good lyrics. Vairamuthu definitely deserved this for his 'vidaikodu engal thaye'..soul stirring lyrics. Kudos to them !
  
  C~P, Prakashraj has been awarded NOT only for dhaya..i read that it was for his work in many diff movies from diff languages.

  But 'special' award is nothing but 'another' award for best actor, Nothing really special about it :-)
  
  I saw prakash raj's photo also in some kannada dailys here (May be the only 'happy' news for them in this National Awards :-), So the news abt his third national award is true !

  In my opinion both ARR and VM got the award for the correct contribution in the correct movie. They deserve it.
  
  At the same it, IR, MSV and KVM deserved award for many of their movies. It is pity that they didn't get it.
