  one of the main plus points of MSV was his ability to
  make great tunes. especially within a single song he provides
  multiple different tunes and gracefully switches over
  between them. During the song, the flow and the gap music
  is so smooth that you never feel that switching has taken place.
  Try singing the following songs and see how different
  tunes are inter-mixed:

  IMO, this is a not so clear topic. "Multi tune" is
  an improvisation on the chosen scale. It need
  not be in the lyrical part of the song, it could be
  in the intrumental preludes, interludes also.
  Ippadi paathaa, IR engeyo poyiduvaaru. ARR has
  also given some wonderful variations.

  i have been reading a lot of this controversy.my feeling is that MSV has music in his blood.if you really compare him with "others",it is not right.
  because he never seem to have worked for publicity and all he did was without any bias,like 'mazhai' gave only music.he did not believe in his photo appearing on all posters like "others" nor did he have any major interviews talking highly about his style or popularity.in fact, i am observing all the directors-now is the day for undue promotions...
  just imagine..during those days no electronic,no stereo reproductions-but if u still listen to his music it appears that insturments and tune are clearly define and 'clear'.personally i have not been able to listen to any eqiuavalent,, though i would like to clarify-that each director has a style of composing..but 'all in one'is difficult and thamizh is lucky.he is still alive and looking for composing..that's the greatness of MSV.

  A legend beyond comparison. A musician whose name is household and everysong of his is an individual identity. Be it voice, lyric, orchestration.
  Name any occassion, any situation, any event in your life and you have MSVs beautiful song to support you. That is MSV.
  
  He is a humble humanitarian MD opined by all the fans unanimously.

  If somebody has to understand this topic, one has to start from KVM music (he will go different stanza different music nothing related) . I feel MSV stands tall in this way ahead of all MD's as well as in overall melody in the songs .

  i think an excellent example of MSV's "multi-tune" music is oru raja raniyidam in sivandha mann. the song has as many as half a dozen music themes.

  msv abused the voices of tms and p.susheela on the cheapest tunes and lyrics at times. he missed the chance of utilising s.janaki lr eswari and pb sreenivos..tho. where he had used these 3 singers in some songs they were refreshing!some of the songs of tms &ps were excellent but most were utter rubbish that people in the south turned to hini music especially the educated classes.
