Maestro goes global!

The maestro Ilayaraja has decided to go global. He will be performing live for the first time on stage with his 115 strong orchestra in Dubai on December 2 and Abu Dhabi on 3rd.
Ilayaraja had all these years refused to perform on stage but has finally succumbed to changing times. Says Ilayaraja: “So far I did not want to perform on stage as I thought of using that time to compose music for one more film.” He also added that he has agreed to do the show, as a part of the profit will be going to the charities.

Raj of Dream Makers, Dubai is making all arrangements as the show would also mark the Golden jubilee of South Indian Artists Association in Dubai on Dec 2. Later Raj also plans to conduct Ilayaraja musical nights in Singapore, Malaysia and London.

Its been ten long years since Ilayaraja called for a press meet. All of a sudden the mastro wanted to interact with the media. Sensing that something very important is about to be announced all scribes rush to Prasad Studio and they were in for a surprise.

  Just one or two shows, right? Is this a rock band or like that? 115 team orchestra, own Prasad orchestra? is it that easily possible to move them around without headaches? One concert a year, IR can definitely do, which he has been doing on n off in Chennai for years. Or is it, IR conducting local orchestras that practices his compositions?
  
  If this is really possible by IR, live recordings of this nature (large orchestra vs. 3 violins, no guitar, 1 pipi, 2 drums, no bass, et..), I will plunge into it, also buy the DVDs. Party time only. (My honest suggestion, first IR can easily try within all over India)

  dinesh, ARR is the trendsetter, agreed. Wish he could put the same focus on making original and energetic compositions. I don't want to hear Grandmother speech or stories for songs ;--)

  Dear Guys, I don't understand. Is this the first time Maestro does stage program in Foreign?
  
  He has already done a program in Dubai itself. He has done a program in Sri Lanka with SPB. He recently went to Italy for a program upon a request from a Italian music Composer (After hearing Rakamma kaiya thattu, he came to meet IR and took him to his country. Right?

  when ARR did his world tour concerts...this same guys where claiming that ARR has no projects to do...all his albums are not being a hit..and so he needs to earn money and be in the news all the time..and so he started doing concerts...
  
  well...now what's the case for IR?...
  
  oooh i'm very much sure he wanted to spread his music that's all!....

  ARR himself says 'he feels alone on stage when performing stage shows'. I guess he is lost without his computer and software and his library of loops/riffs.
  For IR everything is in his head, he can compose, write lyrics and play a complete song even in a stage show. Yeah.. he has done stage shows before and before that even street shows. He is a musician not assembler like ARR, who has only now learnt to play the piano, because nobody considers a keyboard a real instrument.

  Yes Paran. I dont think anyone who can enjoy good music will be against IR. But I prefer ARR to IR somehow. Ofcourse the 'IR blinded fanatics' are always irritating. May be some day they will change.

  Guys - just an example of IR's spontaneous music making ability on stage - several years ago, actors Revathi, Rohini and one more (don't remember who) had invited IR to conduct a music show for the inaguaration of some kind of an orphanage - this was telecast LIVE on one of the satellite channels - IR comes up to the stage - he requests some lyricist on stage to write a short song for the occasion and IR immediately composed a tune for the same and practised with the orchestra for a few minutes and then the final stuff was rendered by Maestro himself! all this on stage !!

  let's see the things ARR did in the last few years
  1. trying to get the offer to be the md of Baba on the pretext of calling rajini to wish him good...
  2. when all his songs and films were going to the dumpster and his popularity was waning, started giving concerts all around in the name of charity & wat not...
  3. so deperate until he accepted himself as Mozart. what's more desperate is he justified it wif Taal.....
  4. started looking into Euro trance for his latest 'inspirations'...
  5. start to bring ppl like aamir khan to stage shows when there is no relevance at all...

  ARR composed an immediate tune when he did his Malaysian concert...though....the song Ishwar Allah from Pukar or Thakshak (cant really recall) was an immediate tune composed by ARR for a Malay lyric as request by the organiser at the last minute)...
  
  now for those who don't have a good memory...the Malaysian concert happened long b4 Pukar or Thakshak....

  aaaaa BAD SIDE OF RAJA.....he too becoming like all........and worst is......... in USA regarding his TIS trips , he was wearing suit ....not his usual kurtha and dhothi.....its upseting to see him leave his originality for something...even for SYMPHONY recording he never changed his attire, but why for this TIS trips.....I feel he is slowly giving up the race....
