Hello Everyone,

I am looking for the filmoraphy of KVM in Tamil
films.His filmography of Telugu Films is available
in IMDB.

Btw do ppl. know why he got the nickname Mama?
Its becos of his popular song in Telugu
"mama mama mama, eme eme bhaama" from the movie
Manchi Manasulu(1962).

  sk, good work. I suddenly remembered one more interesting incident about MSV-KVM relationship. By age KVM is elder to MSV. When MSV was looking for chances, KVM was working in some Gramaphone company. When MSV approached KVM for help to find the chance, he gave a dhothi and some money to MSV. Later both KVM entered in to movie and followed by MSV. KVM was the composer for all Thevar movies. At that time, once MGR wanted MSV in some Thever's movie in which he was acting as a hero. Thever too approached MSV. But MSV refused to compose music because KVM was composing previously. Unda veetuku rendaham ninaikak koodathu.

  sk: What I've heard is that TMS sang first for Sivaji in Thookku Thookki. In fact, GR and the film's director/producer approached TL since he was the leading singer of the day. Unwilling to sing the 4/5 songs for the sum the producers were willing to pay he suggested TMS. So, koondukkili may have been after this?

  nalla idathu sambantham, periya kovil, kongu naattu thangam have at least some hit songs - I need to research these since I think the songs are buried in collections like TMS/PS solos, duets etc. abalai anjugam had several TRM and SJ duets (sk, this also adds to your pre-70s SJ interests:-) engal kula devi has an incredible folk song complete with nadaswaram TL & couple female voices - will try to dig it out.   There was a movie by name niRai kudam. Do you
  know if it is by KVM? I am not sure whether
