Why is Kannathil Muthamitial so low??

I just saw the poll of the song rating for this site and it is so biased. Why is songs like nandha up the top. Apart from one song the other songs were normal. And Kasi, hey the movie was touching but not the songs. Alaghi i agree was good it should be there. Manthai thiriduvitai was so so. Just a few humable tunes. Surely Kannathil mutahmaital needs to be at the top. The songs are new and different are a breath of fresh air from the normal songs. Before people start swearing at me that i am a rahman fanatic...stop there I'AM NOT!!! I just love music.
So what is happening???

  i agree with jeev. but wat i feel personnaly is arr music in tat is bit subsidised when seeing his calibre. he c'dve done it still better or rather people expectations are still high for arr-mani combination.

  If u r looking for something on the lines of "Thiruda Thiruda" for KM - forget it...the story is not a "boy falls in love with girl" one...so you can't expect to hear the normal hit songs....in spite of this there is a uniqueness infused in each of the songs - Vellai Pookal, Sundari, Signore, Kannathil Muthammital...

  why not malae malae has teasing lyrics which is apt for the situation. It is a fashion to derride Deva. He is one music director who adapts best the original tunes. Unlike other famous Mds who blatantly suttufy compositions & say that it was their divine vision. Got it? hope you did

  i don't understand when these HCFs shun their hatred, suspicion at one another.
  
  KM might be good/ bad/ ugly/ super good/ super dooper good ( i did not get any chance to listen to the KM songs). But it is damn new. Released only a week back or so. How can it immediately be on the top or on the bottom?
  
  We need a system of keeping a new film under a new category called New releases and not under the top 10 rating or whatever it is, for, say 2 weeks. If the popularity of it goes down from the new list itself then dont bring it to top 10 list otherwise based on its popularity and popularity of existing top 10 films that could be decided.
  
  We need to remember one thing just because within a week a lot of cassettes get sold out doesn't necessarily imply that that film to be a hit. If, for example, ARR's film songs are released everyone is inclined to buy it before it actually becomes hit. Its based on expectation that ARR's songs will be good. So in such cases we cannot just base on top 10 rating on the sales. That is why the "New releases" list is suggested. At the sametime, just because ARR's new film cassettes are selling a lot based on expection doesn't necessarily imply that it is all hype or mediocrity.
  
  So it is unhealthy to have a suspicion or hatred towards other fans.

  Has anybody else noticed how the KM ranking plunged from around 53.6% to 52.7% within about 3 days? Does anyone else here smell a rat?
  Day before yesterday was 53.3%, yesterday it was 53.0% and today it's 52.7%. So will it be 52.4% tomm?
  And PP and AA have been pushed to the bottom of the chart with Thavasi & Red doing better. And KM is ranked lower than Punnagai Desam by SA Rajkumar. Give me a break.

  If KM is so low, then probably it deserves to be.Beleive me,I have never even voted for an IR album,leave alone an ARR album.I am sure many of the other HCIRF also do the same.So dont see ghosts where there are none.
  KM was average-accept that.Hindu's review did not mention a single word about the songs(oh yes,there was a single word-meaningless).I have had a feeling that these songs were nothing to write about-apparently the reviewer also thought the same(I liked vellai pookkal and nenji dhil...-but no where near the calibre of TT or even AP)

  I don't think the 1048 votes cast for KM so far fell from the sky, yaaro. Someone is obviously doing some voting even if ur not.

  KM was far above average in my opinion. And far better than Punnagai Desam by SA Rajkumar.
  
  What surprises me is at the rate at which the votes fell. They followed a consistent pattern that I cudn't help but notice. Btw, a few hours after writing the above post, the % fell even lower to 52.5% and then picked up abit and is at 52.6% now.

  DoNot worry about these ratings. These ratings are merely a reflection of what would have happened if these people have voted about 20 years ago. These are minority no of people who have got nothing else to do but vote again and again to achieve virtually nothing. Neither directors nor music distributors look at these ratings to pick up their next MD( imagine how busy IR would be if they solely depend on these indicators). These are the people who are waiting for millennium to turn up in another 20 years time, so give them a chance to get to reality. For now Me, You & majority of the listeners will completely ignore these ratings.

  sorry yaaro, like what ST said, I believe those clutching desperately at straws are the people who r doing repeated voting desperately for no reason. Or audio sales in general wud also reflect such polls, but they tell a different story--the story of the truth.

  there is no point of comparing IR and ARR..both are good on their own ways...i like IR more than ARR...but frankly speaking KM is fantastic...for that 3 songs...but ARR should give more priority for tamil pronunciation...afterall Tamil is one reason for where he is now...both directors are gifted and genius..no doubt about it...but ARR is slow ...a genius should be fast..isn it...anyway...thanks for ARR for those memorable songs in KM and..thanx for IR for those nice but simple songs in kaasi and alagi

  Vellai pookal - 100%
  Sundari - 90%
  Kannathil (F) - 90%
  Senyore - 95%
  Vidai kodu - 95%
  Kannathil (M) - 100%
  
  these songs were just 2ooo good!
  I was very tempted to give 100 to everything, but then there's always this ARRF bashing that goes on. So there.
  
  Actually Vidai Kodu is one of teh most intense songs i ever heard. But then MSV's voice hampered it a bit. I'm not blaming MSV, but ARR could have easily done without him.
