who comes next to SPB

I am G.Suresh for those of you who don't know me, this is my second posting in this forum , it is unfortunate that my earlier one 'Has Arr not copied Narumugaiyae' has to be deleted due to some controversies.

Coming to this latest one , We have lot of singers who resembles SPB in singing, closest being Mano, Arun Mozhi and on one song by Ramesh "Rahde en Radhe.." in Japanil Kalyana Raman, Can we identify here who comes next to SPB in terms of Soft voice and versatality. My choice is Arunmozhi , Awaiting response

  Well in my opinion, the only person who can be the next SPB, is SPB.CHARAN. I have heard some songs by him and he is showing a lot of promises. I have also had the pleasure of seeing a stage preformance by SPB.CHARAN, and he sang a lot of SPB, old time hits and there werent many different in voice or anything. Although I hope that SPB does sing for a long time to give us good music, I am positive that SPB.CHARAN will replace him, NO PROBLEM.

  I agree on SPB Charan's voice in deepnagal pesum.
  especially, in the lines
  "vennilavin munnale, vinmeenkalin oorkolam"
  he sounds just like a young SPB.
  wonder why IR doesn't use him instead of HH,if what he wants is a young and trendy(?) male voice.

  India has produced several great singers and SPB is truly one of them. He is unique and undoubtedly a master a what he does (be it acting, singing, MD, etc.). Nobody can replace and it would be a long time if we can ever find a substitute.
  
  I heard a lot of talk about may HH is good or mano may make or Charan can do it. IMO, absolutely can replace SPB. It's a travesty against his greatness even if we compare great singers like KJY, SPB, TMS, Ghantasala, etc., with each other or with someone else.

  I think it is Kumar Sanu. He has the best voice in the North and his pronounciation is very clear even in Tamil. Have you guys listened to Yamma Yamma by Deva? He can also sing all type of songs with ease and has very good range.

  ha ha ha ha! Kumar sanu is the nasal idiot of the world. He was popular in hindi purely bcoz he was overfed. The actual idiots r the MD's who actually overlooked hariharan, shankar mahadevan, udit narayan, sonu nigam talents and stuck with a zero like Kumar sanu!
  
  Kumar sanu should not even be in the city that spb lives. he should probably drink the septic tank water that comes out of spb's house!
  
  I hate kumar sanu! If he has the best voice in north then I pity North. I think that is one of the fundametal reasons why southies think northieswill settle for any inferior product. Kumar sanu, anu malik, subash ghai r 3 outstanding examples why southies think north is junk! Bappi lehari is just an ornament to that fact.
  
  Kumar sanu my foot!!!! his voice is like when i sing when i have cold and my throat is all destroyed.

  I think you southies are just jealous of north indians. We have more talent, more popular artists, that is why. Its okay. Even SPB was so easily overshadowed by Kumar Sanu when they sang in Saajan. Kumar Sanu got awards for just one and a half songs and SPB sang rest but got nothing!

  there can be no successor to spb but there can be some good music singers four or five steps down the ladder. just like kamal being four or five steps down the ladder below sivaji.spb is god's gift to indian film music and there is no question of any successor to him

  Well said Mahesh,Venkat. There can never be any successor for SPB. He is really great. I hate when people compare Shankar mahadevan, Unni Krishnan, Udit Narayan, Hariharan. All the talents of them put togather, cant even be 10% of SPB. Regarding Kumar Sanu, the less said the better. I stopped listening latest Hindi just songs because of him.
