Hi guys. I tried to post this thread yesterday, and some %&*!@#!@ deleted it. I sincerely hope that won't be the case with this thread.
So, the topic: if you were in charge of a Tamil film, just imagine what it would be like. Let's have fun with this thread.

Alright, I shall get this thread rolling.
If I were to direct a film, now I'm half-serious about this, it would be a bhakti or semi-bhakti movie, and it would have both Indian and western actors and actresses. It would be sort of like that great TV Serial 'Abhay Charan,' which is very dear to God-conscious people, but petty to atheists. Either I would direct the music, or I would call on Ilayaraja, Ravindran, or both, to direct the music. I would want the music to be mostly Indian classical, although a little Western influence would be permitted. Same goes for the sets, and sexy outfits that take a frontseat in Hollywood for the women is strictly prohibited. And there you have it. A masterpiece by me. :-))

"Same goes for the sets, and sexy outfits "

C'mon, *, that's me! Get used to it!! :-)))
Anyway, deepz, you misinterpreted me, I think. There are no sexy outfits in devotional movies. Devotional service and sex indulgence go ill together. Please, read that line over again:
"Sexy outfits that take a frontseat for Hollywood women will be **prohibited!!** Not permitted! Banned! Forbidden!
I felt inspired by the TV serial 'Abhay Charan,' which deals with Srila A.C. Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada, the founder of the Krishna Conscious Movement in America (ISKCON).
I will put this out there-- my idea will not be palatable for everyone.

Anyway, I'm sorry I cursed in my first post. It's probably God who felt it wasn't right that this thread be started at the time. Amen.

hmmm...i was the first person to respond to purv's shortlived thread yesterday...if i make a movie it'll be like a 2hr Seinfeld episode - a movie about nothing...scripts are available in tons - just pick one of the threads in which our TFM vettis from Chennai post i.e. C~P, curses et al...you have a script right there :-))...

As Seinfeld is being mentioned, it would be cool if Seinfeld like comedy dramas are made in tamil. Bunch of guys living in an apartment.
For the 'dream' aspect of this thread. choices could be(even though its nonsense).
Kramer - Sathyaraj
Seinfeld - Kamal
Elaine - Uma Riaskan ? (the other gal from Anbe Sivam)
Geogre - ? anyone bald short and bumpy...

thops man, that script is funny as heck!! Keep it up!! I think it could work... A 2 hr Seinfeld inspired Tamil film... sounds awesome dude!!
Anyways, now I may have said this in other threads, I'm all for Western and Indian actors and actresses mingling; I think it will look highly eclectic... provided neither party goes with the melting pot attitude- that is to say, Indians should not try to conform to the ways of Western films (overglorification of sex especially). We should not do as the @%!!$^$ Hindi film producers who are hell-bent on making fast money. Rather, we should focus on great music and an intelligent storyline (as so is the case with the Hindi 'Lagaan', one of the very few Indian films I have actually seen).

*, well, first let me say that the way I'm gonna go about deciding who's gonna act in my dream movie is I'm gonna look for the heroine first (everything else should fall nicely into place after this). Well, I've came to a verdict and decided on this one Western girl.... she's a young and pretty young woman, and as far as I know, she has only been in one film thus far, and has had a minor role........... she looks as if she's under twenty..............
NOW FOR THE 1,000,000,000 DOLLAR QUESTION:
???Who is this young woman???
STAY TUNED FOR THE ANSWER

I have a story ......(neram)!
Title : RACE
Actors : Keanu Reeves, Jet Li,Wesley Snipes,Sean Connery,
SPl effects : Industrial Lights
Music : Hans Zimmer/Jerry Goldsmith
Script & Dir Guidance: who else but Steven Spielberg!
Locations : Mongolia (Gobi desert),Tunisia(canyon),Canary Islands,Peru(Machu piku) and Tanzania(Kilimanjaro)
You will notice that all the 3 lead have more or less same physical structure and in fact Reeves and Li share some common facial features as well.3 belong to different races.Sean plays the detective as i can think of no one else. There is no lead woman in the movie.I hope sean does not object to this;))

Vazhipokkan(Your kavidhai was in Forumhub-about the old house?)
Yes,I am.I shall settle for Zimmer.))I loved the Broken arrow(or was it Pearl Harbour?)score.
the story starts with a gene therapy treatment for Reeves going awfully wrong...An Inca/Mayan scripture has the answer. That should explain Peru as a key location.
