  some portions of the interview:
  -first film for the director and she saw the `sets' for the first time in life too
  -she has some poetic mind..even recorded a set of her poems with MSV's music earlier...while hearing them with music, she got the trigger to make a film
  -mammootty acted with a lot of involvement, willing to remove his sandals and walk in the muddy land (in Kerala) for shooting since the character demanded it:-))

  The most relevant portion is this:
  She showed the preview to Raja who is doing the BGM. Raja threw a big smile (all white teeth) and the director relates emotionally that the smile means she has won!

  MY wife's cousin got the opportunity to sing for this movie (Aparna - who was a Sapthaswarangal winner when KR was the judge). Though I have not spoken to her, she told my wife that IR-MSV were the MDs, though IR called her and was there during the recording. Waiting for more details

  The song shown in the trailors had the IR touch in it. Overall, judging by the little music in the trailor, I think we can all expect a class album on the lines of the beautiful "bharati".

  Just read in Sify.com[film/tamil] that the lyrics for "Viswa thulasi" are written by IIR and the producer SumathiRam and of course, music by IIR/MSV! Great!!

  Is 'Vishwa Thulasi' supposed to be a remake of Hollywood's 'The Notebook' starring Ryan Gosling (?), Rachel McAdams and some old couple whose names I cannot recollect? If so, then IR and MSV as MDs is a damn good pick, don't you think so?

  The old couple are James Garner, Gena Rowlands (mother of the film’s director, Nick Cassavetes). If it is true that Vishwa Thulasi is the remake of The Notebook, than it will be interesting the see our Mammoothy, Prakash Raj and Nanditha Dass handle the roles.

  hey in the trailors shown on T.V , the music was pleasant to hear , i guess the film is set on old times...... certainly the music will be pleasant to hear and wud be way better than senthamizh chelvan etc.,

  Nandita Das has been signed opposite Mammootty in a Tamil film titled Vishwa Thulasi. The film will mark the directorial debut of Sumati Rao and bring together maestros M S Vishwanathan and Illyaraja after 15 years. Both will compose the backgroud music.

  Paran: last week, Economic Times' Madras supplement had mentioned that music for the film was by MSV and background score by MSV-IR. Vikatan does not mention MSV at all.Putting together the seemingly conflicting reports appearing in various sources, I am inclined to believe that some of Sumathy Ram's lyrics which were earlier tuned by MSV have been included in the movie and possibly IR has taken care of the rest incl. BGM. Let us wait and see.
