  Please refrain from both eulogizing and opening fresh cuts in flesh for further quarrels. Enough has been said about SPB and your loyalities to your icons have been establlished beyond doubt. If u can, please discuss something which is more fruitful than complimenting each other's postings through a series of empty statements.

  I won't accept SPB as the best.There are many
  more singers like Yesudass and Hariharan.Each
  singer has a unique talent.SPB can't sing like

  Listen to Songs of the film 'Vedam'. SPB has sung one song and there is another by Hariharan. Compare them. Hariharn's song 'MudhalPoo eduvo..' is admirably wonderful even at the first listening. SPB' song 'konji konji..' is does not impress at that much. The song sounds like stero typed. But after listening that song many times, i can notice that unique voice of SPB. SPB is different and great.
  But credit should go to hari for impressing the listener at the very first hearing itself.

  Vedham's hariharan song is better than SPB's I agree, That's because Hariharan had the best tune, hariharan's voice is load s**t compared to SPB's , sorry I should not compare the lord of nasalist mr.hariharan with lord of voice, Dr.SPB, pls SPB sir forgive for this hariharan nasalist name in your thread.
  
  Jeeva , how the hell can you compare hariharan's feminine voice with the voice of god(SPB), India is rather unfortunate to have
  1) Kumar Sanu (god father of nasalist)
  2) Udit narayan (son of kumar sanu)
  3) Hariharan (brother of Udit)
  4) Sonu nigam, a typical feminine voice
  
  But india did produce legends like;
  1) Dr.SPB
  2) Dr. KJY
  3) Dr. B murali Krsihna
  4) M.Rafi
  5) Ghantasala
  ....

  When was the last time you went to the local ordiologist or used some ear wax, please do so b4 you listen to any songs, how the hell can you compare Hari with SPB, I pity you 4 your lack of knowledge in your music, KJY ca compared with SPB, but KJY lacks so many abilities of SPB;
  
  1) SPB's Excellent bass is lacked in KJY's voice
  2) SPB scores 100% over KJY in modulation
  3) SPB scores 100% over KJY in expressing emotions
  4) SPB scores 100% over KJY in high pitches
  
  SPB is kind of it's own, he can not be or can never be reached by any singers in IFM, including the greats like M.Rafi, KJY, Ghantasala...

  I dont see why fail to appreciate Soft Voice. You seemed to be struck one good aspect(like SPBs high bass) but miss other good things. That is only Ur loss!
  Just branding soft voice as feminine and totally discarding it not right. In fact many female singers alone have the capacity to produce high pitch sound which would not even be audiable to human ears!. Perhaps only children or dogs would hear!
  Hari's soft voice so cool to ears. Like what Bahrathi says 'inba thean vanthu payudu engal kadiline...'.
  I admire Hari's voice that reverbrates at times.
  Like in the song 'Nee katru nan maram...'. I am sure SPB can not sing like that.
  There are some special qualities that every body has got. They also have some drawbacks.
  If we highlight the positive aspects and give less importance to negative aspects, we can enjoy both Hari and SPB alike.
  In Bharathi's words...'Yethanai kodi inbam vaithai yengal iraiva...'
  Lets understand variety of wonders that are hidden in the world, appreciate them and enjoy.

  I agree and every music lover should be able to see that each singer who reached this stage and enthralling millions of fans each have their own plusses and minuses.More over it is only obvious that each one has a different style.But if the question is who is the greatest india has ever produced,Hariharan and all new generation singers like sanu,udit..etc do not even come close.Considering SPB's career and enormous number of quality songs he sang he wins the contest of the Greatest (atleast for now and till most of the near future).But if you ask this a north indian he would say Rafi wins thumbs down..but you know each one has a different opinion.Well we cannot judge this exactly,but atleast we can compare SPB with Rafi and Ghantasala and not with Hariharan,sanu,udit...they do not deserve to be compared with SPB now thats too early!!

  Well said man, but I hope this message gets through to some narrow minded people in this thread, You can not compare SPB with bathroom singers like Hariharan, Udit, Shanker,Kumar sanu,Unni Krishnan, that is most stupid thing to do, but I am not suprised about the number of people in this thread who lacks music knowledge, no understanding of music, or the singer's abilities & background.
  
  Yes you are right in saying that SPb can only be compared with legends like the late M.rafi, Ghantasala, although these also lacks some of SPB's assets, they are also great.

  Hahaha, SPB can sing his any one songs better than the orginal singer, bathroom singer Hariharan is no exception.

  I do agree Kumarsanu and Hariharan sing through their Nose sometimes....But Udit's melodious voice comes from his lungs and throat and he is not a nasal singer...And compare SPB with other south Indian singers...Do not bring in northern singers name to this page....Then it is like saying Venkatesh, Nagarjun,Prashanth,Vijay and Ajit are better actors than Sharukh, AAmir ,Salman,AND Hrithik...Which is a joke rather....

  So How come you can bring Udit's name in to this thread, isn't Udit a northie, then how dare you compare a northie with the southie, go & chant your udit slogan up in north, us southies are much more talented than northies, northies would stink like S**T with out the southies take the following sothies who contributed large proprtion of bolly wood success;

  This thread is abt SPB, if can not back up your arguments with proofs as to who is better than who, go an create a thread about udit the nasalist & chant his slogan in hydrabad, let's see how many will agree with you.

  comeon guts this is just an arguement.Everybody has the right to speak about their favourites.I still think that UDIT is a nasal singer and his voice can't be compared with spb or kjy.You know they have manly voices.Northies generally don't have the manliness in their voices.I am only commenting about the voice quality and not the talent of the artists.Talent depends on every individuals effort on how they develop it.

  I visited this thread mainly to express my view on UDIT as I noticed already couple of postings degrading all Urudhu singers...Anyway...SPB is one of the best singers we have today eventhough he does not have any unique melody or voice...FA
