The aim of this thread is to collect, at one place, interesting
stories, anecdotes, tit-bits etc, related to TFM. A newcomer to
the forum will find this collection very interesting to read. For
example, Ramki mentioned the following story in another thread:

  Well, someone asked in this thread why IR didnt attend Deva's daughter's wedding: Latest isue of Kungumam has GA saying that he was caught up in a train which arrived late in madras...apparently, he *went* to the bride's place and blessed them the verysame evening. So much for his ego, thimir and what not.
  
  The issue also carries a rebuttal of LReswari's charges by GA. The charge was that IR had claimed "My songs will be hit even if a donkey sings" when LRE refused to sing for him. It culminates with Anuradha Sriram calling LRE a senile, jobless desparate ***.

  Raj, all this talk about IR's ego,arrogance are unwarranted - I have something interesting to share here -
  
  In 1988, the Blue Cross , Adyar,Chennai under the chairmanship of Mr.Chinny Krishna, approached IR hesitatingly to request him to do a charity show for Blue Cross, which is an Animal Rights organisation, with a full-fledged free ambulance service, a 24 hrs.veterinary hospital in Adyar and is actively engaged in proactive things like immunising street dogs, developing computer generated dissection software to replace killing of animals in schools, etc.
  
  Much to their surprise, IR immediately and wholeheartedly agreed to do the show and it was done ,if Iam not mistaken during the month of March or April,1988 at Madras Music Academy or somewhere - IR was present throughout the show right from the beginning to the end, which itself is a rarity !! the entire proceeds / collections of the show went to the Blue Cross with IR showering appreciation for the Animal Rights Organisation - and during that time IR was at his peak - very very busy in several languages - despite his busy schedule and commitments, he still managed to do a charity show.....
  
  indha maadhiri incidents do not get publicity - but "IR refuses ARR's ring", "IR says this " and "that" maadhiri alpathhanama news ellam get publicity.

  Interesting, but I think that a few things have been misprinted. Such as her first song being sung when she was seven years old. It should have been in grade seven. According to her real live audio interview at indiadirect, that is.

  I had the same problem installing the font downloaded from their page. I sent email to kumudam.net and got divya font by email. It worked. If anyone needs it please email me. I will send it.

  Aruvi: When my Dad saw Sujatha in the ARR Dubai Concert, he commented that he remembered her a a child artiste, BABY SUJATHA....Perhaps she was 7 when she sang her first song?

  But Sujatha has said that she started singing in KJY's concerts when she was 10 and that her first songs was when she was in seventh grade at 13 years of age. The songs is 'kaathal oviyam kandaen'. There is a about 1 and a 1/2 hour realaudio interview with her in Indiadirect. You can check it out if you want. Anyhow, how are you? I haven't seen you around in the threads.

  Aruvi: I'm fine, thanks. Just back from Scotland, where I was watching the filming of the Kandukonden song. Sivamani is here too, as the world cup is happening and he's doing some drumming and advertising.
  
  I think you're right, they must have mis-interpreted it in the interview, as they probably thought that one is 7 years old when thay are in Grade 7:) I guess that anyone below 16 is named Baby 'Name'.....

  Aruvi: It was great(the song and the filming - Rajiv is quite a genius, he has gerat vision and speaks 4 languages!), I have given some details on the ARR New Albums thread, please take a look.
  I'll ask Sivamani if this is possible, it seems like a great idea, Thanks, perhaps we can make it happen. I'll try Rediff. Are there any other chat rooms that we can try to use?

  Did you both watch the INDIA Vs.KENYA one dayer played at Bristol ? Our very own Drums Sivamani was a spectator playing some crude type of drums , banging it hard every time Sachin and Dravid went bonkers hammering the daylights out of the Kenyan bowlers !!

  Madhan: I was there with Sivamani!!!!! In fact he's staying at our place in London at the moment between matches! Met Satchin yesterday too, he's a nice guy. Also saw yesterday's match vs Sri Lanka!!!! We supported the Indian team - not just me and Seelan(my Fiancee), but also our Tamil friends! Sivamani is here to support the team and is following them to each Indian Match, hopefully they will be at the finals, he'll be here too!!!! I'm not so keen on cricket, but the Indian spectators really partied! It was so much fun. There were some other players around, Sivamani knows them, but I didn't really get any autographs e.t.c.... never mind, I may do so soon.
  
  Arvind Swamy was at yesterdays match, he came to the UK especially to watch the cricket, I got his autograph and maybe a photo :) He's a really nice guy too.
