Worst MDs of tamil films.

These are my entries
1) Deva
2) Shankar Ganesh
3) Veda
4) Sirpy

None of these guys know any music so to say. Unbelievable plagiarists to boot. These guys have zero self repect and work ethics. All they know is to steal other man's hardwork and call it their own. We may or may not like Raja, Rahman, KVM, MSV, G Ramanathan. But all of them knew music and were quite original(yes odd ones excluded).

  V,
  SG did a good job in Idhaya Veenai and a few others. The song in Idhaya Thamarai which you said was good too. But overall they sucked big time. Worse they stole whole lot of music from other composers mainly from west. I like composers like V.S Narasimhan, Devendran etc who just composed one good movie or so. But, never resorted to copying. They were disgrace to TFM. Just like Deva and Veda.

  Deva is a No.1 chameleon.
  
  The worst thing is he will copy from the recent popular song and put in to his album.
  
  All the other MD's atleast tried to make their own.

  XML, I am not defending Deva here. I am only saying Veda and Shankar Ganesh were about as bad. One good thing about TFM is top guys don't copy so much. very little in fact. compare this with R.D. Burman. But, our second rung composers are just as bad as they get.

  Veda was the first to start this trend of mass copying in tamil films. he stole tunes from hindi films, west etc and 'composed' music. many jai shankar movies from modern theaters were his music direction. I am looking for a list of songs he copied.

  STS all md's copy I admit this, but here we are talking about the worst offenders. Maybe they gave great albums, but it is not really a great album if you have blatantly copied (not be inspired) other artist works.

  i think Veda is the music directopr for the popular hit "Adhe Kangal"..is he? ... i was told songs in the film were good, but all were explicitly copied

  We should not discourage HJ and IMMAN. They are just entered and may do well in future.Many producer and directors keeps HJ as next option to ARR for their films.
  
  But the deva is the only MD did movies more than ARR and still doing. But nobody recognising him as a good MD.

  If u hate all the songs of these MD s esp. Shanker Ganesh 's Music it means u dont have a good ear for music.
  do a google search on shanker ganesh and find out how much good songs they had given us.
  Veda is very good in orchestration and BGMs.
  hear to jaishanker movies.

  Nmae any MD who is so flexible and versatile as Deva though he copies.

  Veda composed some very good songs too, original ones. His music in Kalki's Parthiban Kanavu was very soothing. The PS-AM Raja duet in that film, idaya vaanin udaya nilave, is among the best-ever in TFM history. He copied, perhaps, under the instruction of Modern Theatres owner Sunderam who was a dictator, I have heard. Another offbeat song sung by TMS, Dingiri Dingale Meenachi dingiri Dingale, was set to tunes by Veda. He had another very fine song sung by PS in Vallavan Oruvan- Pzhudum pularum poovum malarum porothiruppai Kanna - is an outstanding effort. A wonderful song which can be featured in SOTD

  Hey..... u guys forgot abt Athithyan. he is one of the worst. deva is copy cat. but still its not fair to say he is the worst. there are more worse guys than deva.. like athithyan, marakathamani etc.. deva is the number one for copy cat. sirpi is ok.

  all md's don some good albums too. for example u can say balabarathy. his first movie amaravathy was a hit. very good album. after that all his albums suckked.

  numero uno spot goes to SAR for his unfathomable melodious songs..its very apparent from his songs that he tries little toooooooooooooooooo hard to sound melodious...and in that process he uses his same old sivaranjani tune again and again and again with his loyal 'lalala' chorus girls..ayoooooooo saami..(sorry SAR fans..watched Priyamana thozhi yesterday..antha kadupppu)

  SA Rajkumar, lifted the song Sayoni by Junoon in Meghamai Vandhu Poghiren. Apart from this, he lifts mainly from his old tunes to create semi-new tunes. He only knows of 2 ragas which are Suddha Dhanyasi and Sivaranjani.
  Did you hear the song "Maan Kutti" from Priyamaana Thozhi, it is a lift of Kurukku siraththavale from mudhalvan.
