I'am a great fan of Harini.I want you to write your reviews about her.

  Me too.. Ever since her `Telephone mani pOl..', she has never looked back. In fact, she has become the `key' singer for ARR to sing the best duet/solo songs in his movies. If someone hears `Nila Kaikirathu' and `Telephone mani..' one after the other, he/she wont accept that both the singers are one and the same. From such a child-like tone in Indira, she was able to give a wonderful duet within a year in Indian.
  Almost all her songs are my favorites; still, the best I like are:
  Telephone mani...(Hariharan and Harini - what a combination it was!! With the Australian sceneries, one of the best songs to have been nicely composed/sung/photographed and choreographed in the recent 5 years)
  Konjum Manjal... (Ullasam - It is a pity that this song wasnt there in the movie, atleast in Bangalore),
  Manam virumbuthey.. (Nerukku Nerr - What a song!! She must have been given the best singer award for this song),
  Azhagana Ratchasiye.. (Mudhalvan - Exquisitely shot)
  Hello Mr.Edhirkatchi (Iruvar) and Vaarai enn thOzhi (Jeans) were not upto her mark, really

  Harini's voice is probably the best voice i've ever heared in the film music. Even though IR's fanatics claims that janaki is the best...i personally feel that janaki lacks a million as far as variation is concerned. Finally as harini is in the scene...i'm happy that we have a versatile singer... what do u feel guys? i'm sure u all will agree to my view.

  Actually, I think the most versatile of the new entrants is Anuradha Sriram. Look at the difference between "Nilavai konduva" and "anbenra mazhaiyilae". BTW, the later is a favourite song of mine.

  Just joking, I wouldn't want to compare all these singers but i think that TFM is blessed with riches of talent in this area.

  guys did you know that harini has sung a song in a malayalam film Mr.Butler,music by vidyasagar.She has sung the song with mg sreekumar and it is set in ragam sree ragam.But her name is not mentioned in the cassette cover.

  Harini had come to perform a stage show in Coimbatore.It was very nice.
  She came once again to Coimbatore to sing in a marriage where told my friend's mom that she had sung her first song (nila kaigi....) when she was in her 12th std.She got this oppurtunity when she met A.R.Rahman in a competition.A.R.Rahman was the judge for that competition & it seems he gave her the first prize & asked her to come to his recording studio the next day.

  The following are some of the best songs sung by Harini IMO.
  1.Nila Kaigiraddnu n....(Indhra)
  2.Sonia Sonia.... (Ratchagan)
  3.Chillallava..... (ESK)
  4.Varayo....... (Jeans)
  I do not know how these singers singsongs which do not have 0.01% tune.For eg: Chandha oh chandha in the film Kannedhire Thondrinal.Music for that film was by "XEROX COPY".The song was sung by Harini.

  Ofcourse Janaki sings well, but when variation comes into the picture, harini is one step ahead.
  I agree with Dileep 200%.
  
  I am also a great fan of Harini. I am planning to host a website fully devoted to her. The work is almost thru.
  
  If anybody knows her email id or phone numbers, i will get the permission from her and upload the pages. I hope Lakshmi may know the email address.

  Variation in the sense, singing with different modulations for different heroines.
  
  I am not portraying that Janaki is not a good singer or her songs are not good. I like Janaki's songs very much. But, my statement is, Janaki sings all the songs with the same tone. The songs 'Poovarasam poo poothaachu', 'Chinna chinna vanna kuyil' and 'Edho mogam'. All songs are for different heroines but with the same modulations. Even if the voice matches with the actresses, you cannot avoid janaki's face comes into your mind.
  
  But, harini sang 'Nila kaaikirathu', 'Telephone manipol', 'Hello Mr. Edhirkatchi', 'Chanda O Chanda', 'Poonguyil paattu' with different tones.
  
  Earlier, TMS did the same thing for MGR and Sivaji. That was one of the reasons for his success.
  
  Nowadays, harini is following that concept and she tries to match her voice with the heroines.
  
  If you see the song 'Suthi suthi vandheega', it seems as soundarya herself has sung the song. It happens in all of her songs.
  
  Comparing harini with a great singer like Janaki itself is a success of harini's voice.

  who is comparing harini with SJ except for a couple of guys here?;)) Harini has miles to go. her voice lacks maturity and right now suits only 10-tear olds like the one who acted in Indra.
  
  In comparison with SJ, to me the phrase Harini's voive variation sounds like an oxymoron;))

  Harini is an excellent singer. Comparing her to SJ is unfair to Harini. Incidentally, I had the opportunity to hear Harini sing "Katril Enthan Geetham", which is an SJ signature song, during a practice session ! She is pretty good, but has a long way to go and a lot of things to accomplish before you can compare her with true legends like SJ.
