Ajay Devgan and Vivek Oberoi can’t stop raving about the songs of Mani Ratnam’s Yuva. “A.R. Rahman and Mani Sir and dynamite together,” says Vivek on the sets of Indra Kumar and Ashok Thakeria’s Masti, and adds, “The six songs Rahman has recorded for the film are mind-blowing.”

Ajay Devgan, his co-star in Yuva and Masti, uses the same words to describe them. Incidentally, when the film was launched earlier this year, Mani Ratnam had decided not to have a single song in it.

Vivek also feels that Abhishek Bachchan’s is the best role and best performance in the film. “That guy’s career will take off in a big way after Yuva,” predicts Vivek.

  i feel sanda kozhi is the best song..its got the best charanam.... interludes(esplly the arr vocals) a simple beautiful song with a great charanam and percussions..
  lovely folksy stuff..
  
  fanah..phew magical stuff again..
  
  janagana is energetic and rahman's vocals stand out..
  
  rest aren all good and a lot of new sounds.. new to tfm!

  IMO, this is a proud addition to the MR-ARR combo list.
  
  Sandai Kozhi is vintage Rahman. It reminds me of the songs of Kizhakku cheemaiyile, uzhavan and Karuthamma.

  at first hearing i'm not satisfied enuff...still trying my best to like the songs...this is the indication tht the tunes are new one...not a recycled one....i think after a week i'll love the songs....

  Once again on Sandai Kozhi, I feel that the charanam is brilliant. The entire song just flows from the beginning to the end.
  
  Like elankathu from pithamagan, I feel that this song will be enjoyed by all music fans, irrespective of whether they are IR, ARR or any other md's fans.

  It is just a question of ur liking. In the sense that you liked KKS and Meenaxi a lot, but BOYS did not impress you. So, I don't think you will like AE. Similar is the case with Aswathama, whom I expect to condemn this album! :-)

  You missed my point.. Boyz Dating song surely was a gr8 stuff, the kind of neravals fused with some good beats and a heart warming melody..
  Do you kind-a feel that with AE? may be it is offbeat to the mudane tamil songs you hear.. When you hear only selected songs from selected MD's, it will not appeal!! But the way it is hyped up, i wish I had more musical fun, but it just sounds average in some of the songs.
  Again though it is only my opinion, i am not condemning nething but surely will not buy the HYPE.
  I stand by opinion.
  
  Again if you have get the bits for Bombay dreams title song i guess.. then u will know what i am talking about. I just watched the practice session for BD on TV here.. that song was good.
  
  And surely, i like Mottai ARR than the whole hair thing, he looks hip!!

  back then..ppl say KM sucks...
  but now they say this is not as good as KM?..
  i dunno wat's the problem..
  
  but to me...I AM ENJOYING BOTH KM AND AE...both are different genres..so we can't expect Madhavan the Don singing "Nenjil jil jil"..rite?...he he he

  I still cannot understand why he used the 007 music. I think he blundered.
  
  Sanda Kozhi is good. It is not necessary to use techno music to depict a fast paced youth movie. I have heard several such tunes composed by amateurs in the US (using sync).

  kumar...i am pretty sure...if the same stuff came from HJ or YSR..u will be raving abt it...
  anyway..the loop can be amatuerish..but the layer of music...is so much in depth...have u noticed that...
  that's wat differentiates ARR's music with the rest...
  his music is sooo rich of music and sounds that it can take months to exactly identify the instruments in it....it's so complex....
