SPB + VJ Combination

I have seen many threads about SPB+SJ, SPB KSC and so on..., although SPB is the greatest, one must not forget about the great VJ;

Here are few SPB + VJ

  I was about to ask about the songs of Thennageetru by GKV.Should someone start a thread on GKV.His Ponnukku thanga Manasu,Malligai Mohini (Meganagale Engu ... SPB) are some of my favourites.

  The MD for OOKS is G.Dakshinamurthy. 'ANdavan illA ulagamethu' (by TMS and ???) and the kalyana vasantham number by KJY 'nalla manam vAzhga' are good songs in the movie. As an aside, a part of the theme music of that movie 'reincarnated' as the tune of the pallavi of a then famous song sung by SPB (probably forgotten now). A case of tune reuse by GD.

  The song I am referring to is 'nanda nee en nila' by SPB. The tune of the pallavi gets played repeatedly as the BGM in several scenes in OOKS.

  I also remember reading that GD recycled the original from Oothapoo into a song in NEN only as the BGM proved to be so memorable and people were commenting on it. Nandha Nee En Nila is quite a fine song by SPB.
  Sort of like IR using the Vayazhum Vazhvum signature music to turn out a Naane Naana, don't you think?

  Yes, true. In the movie 'pAsam' (MGR starrer), the tune for 'anubavam puthumai' (kAthalikka nEramillai) is played once in a scene. Shankar-Jaikishen did this very often, for example ...the tune for 'ek tErA sundar mukhdA, ek tErA pyAr sE bharA dil' (Rafi solo) has been used extensively in the movie AmrapAli as a BGM piece.

  GD like all greats moved with time.Look at alibaba 40 thirudargalum to Nandha En Nila.Nandha en nila couls pass as a new number in a Shankar's movie even today.

  Yes, the Vayalum Vazhvum music was indeed the song Naane Naana from Azhage Unnai Aaradhikiraen. IR admitted that he had composed the VV tune during his apprentice days (pre-Annakili) when he worked on the music team for Madras DD.
  Nandha En Nila, Samsaram Enbadhu Veenai, Vaan Nila Nila Alla, Aayiram Nilave Vaa...those songs can be rechannelised through the Ajits, Madhavans and Vikrams of today...MDs should seriously consider it!!

  There was an SPB-VJ song from the film Aiyram Pookkal Malarattum. Music was by V. Narasimhan. Can anybody recall the song? I can recall the title song by PS, and the Neerodaiyo duet by SPB/SJ, and the solo Kadhal Nila Theindhathey solo by SPB. Ana andha SPB/VJ duet thaan varamataengirathu...does anyone know the first line at least...?

  does any body Recall the song "Vazhum varai pooradhu", by SPB, I think it is the tamil version of Disco Dancer called "vaanampaadi", the Hindi version had Mithun Chakaraborti & Tamil one had Anandha Babhu, who was the MD for that?

  As far as i know IN TAMIL there is only one Alibaba & 40 thirudargalaum with MGR and Banumathi in the lead.
